Gas Mileage? How far can you go on a single tank?

Did you account for the difference in your trip odometer reading with the bigger diameter tires? If you are running BFG AT's in a 285/70/17, your trip odometer is underestimating actual miles driven by about 7%.

Either way, my fuel light usually goes on at around 270-280 miles on the trip odometer (that's after correcting for my increased tire diameter of 33" vs. 30.5" stock).

I'd say you are doing pretty average at 290-300.

 

I just started shifting at around 2k rpms to see how far I can stretch this tank. I only drive to work, and that's roughly 3miles from home

 

last tank was 285 WOOT! 15.5mpg... Hell yea baby. Much better then the 13mpg I had this time last year

That's a big problem from more than just a fuel economy perspective.

You really should consider a bicycle or 50cc scooter. You are not doing your engine any favors running it for only 15 minutes morning and afternoon.

filled up today. 456 miles. i was fearing i wouldn't make it to the cheveron though....

1gr, 51 mile drive each way to work, very light on the foot and never go past 68 mph. regular maintenance and always put supreme. I also top the tank off. I make sure that the pump reads 21 us/g +/- .02

 

Do you run supreme because you feel that its better for the engine and what is the difference in gas mileage between supreme and regular?

 

i noticed an increase in milage.. plus my truck runs better. no downshifting going over bridges, smoother idle, etc.,

 

Maybe if it's ethanol-free premium, but the E-10 shit that they sell in California it makes no difference.

 

I is in Louisiana. I don't think ethanol-free. But I DO notice a difference.

 

i got 255 on one full tank the most. im running 295/70/17s,jba headers,trd exhaust afe cold air intake and 4.56 gears

 

I got around 400 from full tank.. But I do take it to 80 mph on a regular basis.

 

I get right at 320 per tank at 18 gallons when the light comes on. I did my mpg yesterday and it was 17.8. Not very happy with it. I was getting 19 when it was new. Probably needs a little tlc and it would get better.

 

Just picked up over 400 before filling over the weekend... All highway driving, no stops, good weather...

 

Last tank was 381.7 miles with a mpg of 23.42. My commute to and from work is about 50+ miles. This last tank I took the highway except once. On other tanks when I took the interstate there and back, the ceiling for mpg was mid 21's.

After seeing all these 400 numbers I am awfully tempted to see how far I can go. Whats 20 more miles right.:

 

My fuel light comes on right around 260 miles, damn 285's!
