Lift option for my dad

Ok my dad needs a new suspension set up and was given this option by a friend...is this a good option for 1k or could you recommend something better for the price? He has a small horse trailer that he's towing and has pretty bad sag and bouncy ride in general.

1995 tacoma 4x4

Monroe adjustable shocks all around
Rebuilt/rebending current leafs and adding 2" aal
New springs (not sure on brand)
All labor and install for 1k

How about bilstein 5100's all around(more reputable than monroe) and a 2" aal in the rear. If he wants new coils maybe eibach coils. All that plus install should be less than 1k.

 

Tacos are NOT known for their weight carrying ability. Stock rear leaf pack only has 3 leaves. Your dad may have ruined them over years of hauling that trailer.

I'd say replace the leaf pack, with maybe a 5-leaf pack from Wheelers, and keep the stock overloads to protect 'em.

New rear shocks yeah, but I don't think adjustable Monroes would be the best choice. No experience with those.

 

I agree on the billies thats what I have. So rather then rebuild/bend back to spec, we should replace the entire leaf pack...I will look into wheelers im not aware of what you mean about the stock overloads? Wouldnt eibachs put him at 3" in the front? I remember seeing that for first gens. He wants to be aroumd 2"

i suggested eibachs because its a better ride than preloading the stock spring where it's probably sagged down a lot anyway. but if he wants a 2" he might as well just go full 3 and get some all pro expo leaf packs and have a badass truck to tow with... just my opinion though

 

One on each side. Its the really thick leaf, curved down-word, under the bottom of the main 'leaf pack'. I guess its considered part of the leaf pack, since the center-pin goes through it. With a lot of weight in the bed, it prevents the smaller leaves from bending over completely backward, and possibly breaking.
