I know I totally should have bought a 1st gen, but they're soooo hard to find around here unless you want to buy with 200,000 + miles on it. Badass pic by the way!!!!!!

When I first got my truck my leg hurt like hell after a hour behind the wheel. Most people who drive it complain about the pedal. Cruise control is absolutley a must. 3 months and 5000 miles later I can go about 4 hours before it starts to hurt. Maybe my leg is getting stronger. :D Of course I'm only working the right leg so I'll end up standing lop-sided! I should have got a manual to work that left leg.

Oh and I'm coming from a 2001 taco. Pedal was lighter but the 2012 is so much more refined and quiet I still prefer it on long trips.

Oh yeah I have used the cruise on the hwy many times already, it helps!
And it probably doesnt help that I screwed up my right knee when I wrecked my husband's dirt bike a couple years ago, it still gets to aching pretty bad after driving. But I still wouldnt trade anything for it. I have lower back problems too, but it hasnt bothered me in this truck, and most vehicles I've rode in aggrevate it. Pretty comfortable other than that damn pedal. We're all going to be walking around with beefy right legs!!

I don't think torque comes into play while coasting if anything its a heavier fly wheel

I just purchased my 2012 Tacoma last week and I came from a 2009 Mustang GT. That being said my 2012 Tacoma has a stiff gas pedal compared to my Mustang but I would not say that my truck is weak. I drive on the toll way next to my house all the time and I set the cruise at 90 MPH and the truck doesn't blink. My truck is a double cab v6 2x4 SR5.

Test drive another at the dealer and see if it's the same. If not, call service dept...
