Hey y'all, I have an 08 4x4 DCLB Taco, right now I just have a 2.5" top plate on it and running 265/75/16s on stock wheels.

I went with the top plates because I dont really offroad at all and it's just temporary until I lift it higher.

I am going to go with a 6" lift and run either 33x12.50 or 285/75/16s.

I know 4.5 backspace is the recommended for any kit but I have seen others with the 6" that seem to have a lot more offset.

My 265/75 duratracs are only about 6 months old and I'm not going to lift it until they wear out, what I'm wondering is if I could run a 4.0 backspace or less to with the current set up and not get too much rubbing? Again I don't really offroad.

    And here's some pics

And since your duratracs are only 6 months and you don't offroad, you have about 2 1/2 years before you'll do the lift...

Both Fabtech and Procomp have statements to the effect of you must use 17x8 or wider tires with a minimum backspace of 4.5". Its in their installation instructions and I think I saw it on the sales information as well...

Well shit. Maybe I'll just end up going 3" and adding 1 or 1.5" body lift.

I just want to be able to run 33/12/16 with a ten inch wide rim and a lot of offset!
