I had a GMC Sierra, last time I saw it was in my rear view mirror at the Toyota Dealership, that was 3 Toyota Trucks ago, I guess there better now that the drivetrains built in China.

    Thanks I'll keep my Toyota.

Toyota has capitalized on its great 4 wheeling and its resale value, and it is the best selling truck in its category, so until the competition forces it to add things that cut into its profit margin, it won't do it. We are already buying it without the extras because we value reliability, resale and function more than heated mirrors, etc.

I love everything except for the Dunlop tires, steel wheels and stock stereo. I LOVE everything else about it.

Your distracted by shiny things and bells and whistles, after one week your not happy? Get back to us in 20 years when your Tacoma still runs and the GMC is a rusted pile of scrap metal. I will take a truck with reliability over leather any day of the week

    Don't like:
    • TCS
    • VSC
    • ABS
    • Clutch has an odd intermittent slipping issue in cold weather
    • 2TR offers mediocre fuel economy for a 4cyl (Though mine IS a 4WD) and less-than-impressive power and torque
    • Would rather have an ext cab but that's no fault of the truck
    • Like the rest of new Toyotas it needs that expensive 0W-20
    • Didn't come with tie-downs in the front, had to buy a set and install them myself
    • Auxiliary function on stereo is really, really quiet.

    I LOVE
    • Simplicity!
    • 5sp maual
    • Crank windows
    • Manual Doorlocks
    • No antitheft
    • Auto LSD
    • LOOKS BEAUTIFUL
    • LED Taillights
    • 2TR does sound nice at high rpms
Overall, she's my baby and I love her :3

Do what I did... new wheels and tires. I wish the stereo had a little more kick to it.

I absolutely love mine, first truck ever and I'm very happy with it.

You have a Prerunner, correct? Out of curiosity, which V8 does it get worse gas mileage than? I personally don't know of any V8 trucks that get better than 19 city 24 highway.

That's the plan! I bought my truck on 2/17/12 and when I came out of the grocery store yesterday and saw it sitting out in the lot from a distance I got chills.

    I love it...

I'm so happy with mine, as noted above, that I took a rare opportunity to trade in and get the very same damn truck, just two years newer and with a whopping 4K on the odometer.

Otherwise, its the exact same truck, sans sliding rear window.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

I looked for over a year and then one day March 2010 I saw one at a Nissan Dealer and called and went up and looked at it and bought it the same day.

2009 TRD Sport with 15K miles for $24K out the door!!!!!! It had running boards, free XM radio and bull bar already installed. I added a toneau cover.

I just did a 10-day 3000 mile camping trip. The rig ran absolutely flawlessly and averaged over 30 mpg. You might say I'm happy!

Good to hear. For me it's either a fully loaded TRD double cab, or what you have. No 4cyl 4X4, no access cab 4cyl. No prerunner. Just a regular cab 4x2.

Only 1500 miles, but I love it.
Seats too low.... gee, have I read that before? But comfortable for me.
Plenty of go when I need it.
I'm happy with the sound system. I like being able to plug my Ipod in.

Gas mileage is the same as my last two Ford Ranger 4 WDs ('88 & '99)... which sucks. I may be in the minority here, but I truly do wish that Trucks would have been covered under the CAFE standards for the past few years. I understand that they now are, and truck mileage must get better.

I love it, 3rd Tacoma I have owned. There are a few things I want to add/change but I think you can find that with any vehicle you buy.
