AVIC X930BT Iphone AND Ipod Simultaneous Hookup

Just installed my X930BT and am trying to figure out if it's possible to simultaneously connect an iphone and an ipod

I want the iphone connected for pandora, but want an 'always connected' ipod for music/video. The SD card has a folder and file limit, otherwise I'd just use that in lieu of the ipod.

Anybody have any way to hook up both, or another work around-you've tried?

I've tried searching Avic411, but the only related topic I could find simply posed the question and then devolved into a bunch of whining character attacks between members.

Hrmm, you should be able to connect the iPhone via bluetooth and stream pandora that way, then connect the iPod via USB. It should work this way.

 

That's what I thought too. My phone (iphone 4) connects for phone use, but I'm having trouble getting the BT audio to function. I've read through the operations manual and just don't understand what I'm missing. The HU will say something to the tune of "start connection at device", but I'm already connected. If I start running ipod music, it doesn't stream to the HU, but just out of the phone speaker.

 

You have to set it up as a hands free device AND audio device. Let me see if do it really quick and post up a quick video...

 

It is possible. I have the same setup for my iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Phone is setup as a Bluetooth device, iPad is plugged in and charging.

When you connect your iPhone as a Bluetooth Audio/Handsfree Device, you have to select Bluetooth Audio on the Head Unit first. The iPhone will then have the AirPlay button show up in the bottom right corner of the Pandora app. Push that button, select your device, and it will play via the Bluetooth.

I had to use my iPhone for the video, so it has some "Currently Unavailable" pop ups that you wont get...
