Good Bed Mat ??

Im thinking about putting a bed mat in. What would be a good thick heavy duty brand to get that actually fits? Is the Toyota bed mat worth the price? Anyone know if its 3/8 or 1/2 thick?

i have a factory toyota tacoma bedmat and love it i paid about 90 bucks for it at the dealer. if they want to charge you more than that just do what i did well i can get it at http://www.toyotapartsstore.com for about 80-90 bucks shipped. my dealer part rep quickly changed his tune and informed me that he could discount it down to that price.

the bedmat from toyota really keeps things in my bed from sliding around and i believe its about 3/8 inch thick. i personally like the logo and design on it as well.

i also recommend the toyota all weather floor mats as well.

Some guy on here went to a farm and ranch store and bought a horse trailer mat for about half the price. That's what I plan to do.

 

I have a Protecta bed mat. It's great and I love it!

I only paid $40 for it though - through a buddy at an accessory shop locally.

It's really thick and sticky too!.

 

I can second all the reviews of the Toyota bed mat above...I have one, and I really like it...it is approx. 3/8" thick, and it is extremely good at not letting stuff move around...even with snow in the bed...as for the price, I believe it's worth it for the extremely custom fit, and I like the logo also.

 

Thats mine. At least 5/8 thick, and weighs 80lbs for the 5 ft bed. Provides weight in back for winter, no worries about theft. Makes the toyota one look like it was made of rubber bands. Around $40 and you cut it. Can use a strip of scrap to fill the bed-to-tailgate 'gap' when your unloading wood chips or crushed stone, its bitch getting stuff jammed in there.

 

I would have to go with the toyota bed mat. Thick enough for me where it is not to heavy. Plus I got a good deal on my mat....62.00...not bad. I have a dealership who sends me coupons every month for all kinds of stuff since I bought my truck from them!

 

I'm glad you caught the thread. I was too lazy to go search to find out who suggested it This has got to be more durable that the Toyota bed mat. It's made for horses to stomp on. And their weight (about 1500 lbs +/- 300) is concentrated on 4 hooves. I'm sure it's not as pretty as the Toyota mat. I like this being tougher, cheaper, and don't mind spending 15 minutes to cut it to fit, but some people are more attuned to appearance. Mine'll be hidden by a tonneau anyway.

I have the toyota bed mat and it is awesome. Just really hard to carry out of the dealership.

 

Back in the 80's I was working at a paper mill and they had a surplus sale in their salvage yard. For pennies I drove out with a piece of conveyor rubber that was about 20 foot long and 5 foot wide. Fit the back of the S10 real nicely. It was almost 3/4" thick and had a soft rubber side and a hard rubber side. Hard side went down. You should have seen me wrestling that huge piece of rubber, I confess, I had to have help getting it into the bed.

For my Tacoma I chose the Toyota mat this go around. It was $110 through my dealership but I now see them for $80-90 at trdparts4u.com. The horse trailer mat might just be a good deal, please report on the exact cost and the size it is.

 

I have the OEM mat and love it, super stick seems super durable so far.
