    I remember working in Colton when the riots started & even though the jobsite was at the far end of the valley (about 40 miles) could see alot of smoke for days...

    He died in the shitty pool of his one story home in beautiful Rialto, CA...yeah I'm willing to bet that settlement didn't last very long. Not that any of that is bad, but if he still had the money I'd assume he would be in a different home and part of town.

    Agreed, yeah Rodney was pretty much a POS when high (which he was most the time) fairly long sheet on him too & he was resisting AT FIRST & I can see taking some aggressive action to get in custody....If you are a professional... Thats where it ends for me, after watching, & I mean really watching that whole thing melted down to a guy being hit like a ~piniata by some rather sadistic cops having fun, theres a few standing around waiting for their turn at bat & I come from a family of law enforcement on both sides, 1 fam. member didn't have an opinion but the other 4 were pretty appauld, I mean if they'd just stop beating him when it was obvious he wasn't near the threat he may have been earlier, but they just kept swinging away.....:notsure:

    I was a Major assigned to 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord in Monterey when the riots started. I deployed with the division when it was sent to quell the riots and restore order - ended up as one of the two liaison officers between the Joint Task Force and Central Bureau, LAPD. The Deputy Chief (later Chief of LAPD) Bernard Parks gave us his office to use - and to sleep in. I got to see 1st hand the destruction and inhumanity that occurred in the aftermath - a very low point in our history as a Nation.
