Affordable front/rear speakers?

I'm in an 04 AC looking to replace all 4 speakers and channel them to an amp, any recommendations for some solid but affordable speakers?

 

A decent pair of speakers will run close to $100. The factory speakers will sound better than most anything that's less than $50 a pair. New Alpine speakers are pretty good.

 

Are you suggesting I should just keep the factory speakers? Because I've definitely been considering doing that I just figured an upgrade would be a big improvement

I'd second the Alpines. I had them in my 1st gen and they sounded really good. I powered mine off an Alpine HU and it was plenty loud. I did have one of their top end HU's though.

 

If I remember right they are 6.5"

 

Personally I'm going with Polk Audio this go round in the 2nd gen. I don't know if you want to spend that much money though. I have a friend that works for them and is going to give me the hook up on everything.

The factory speakers with a new headunit and amp will be pretty decent. You can always try it out, and if you feel like an upgrade you can get new speakers later.

Your factory speakers are 6x9s and can be changed to 6.5" with an adapter plate.

 

Thanks for the input guys, i might try the stocks and see how it goes. Polk's would be awesome but a little out of my budget so might just see if the stocks can hold me over until i can save up a little more in that department..

 

I've enjoyed my Alpint Type-S but I have nothing really to compare them to. much better than stock, that's for sure. Cost is around $80 I think, for a pair of 6x9s.
