One source of recourse (if you want to take the time) is to go on the different review sites and explain the story to any potential new customers who might visit the dealership. There are lots of review sites and for me, it makes me feel better to vent AND praise excellent service as well.

The reason I say this is because my local dealership, Toyota of Santa Cruz, has a notorious reputation for bad customer service. I, personally, have never had a problem with them when I've gone in for warrantied service (BUT, there are a couple of awesome small shops who really do killer service and out of warranty they get my business). However, just do a Google search and see for your self and you can see what I mean.

The fact is that those reviews are really hurting them. The thing is, in this area, there are dealers all up and down the state and you do have lots of choices of where you go to get your service. If you look at the competition, you will see that many of the other dealerships have much less complaints, just a short drive away. And it says a lot when one has sooo many. I mean a few, yes, it's a dealership and they are never going to please everyone all the time, but seriously, when the service sucks so much that people flood the reviews, it's a good tell you aren't going to be treated anything special and might want to check the next town over.

Glad to hear you are getting your truck fixed as it should with the coin we spend, and getting a little gratification too.

hi op, so was that causing the sound over 20,000 miles? cause I have the same thing, it's only intermittenly, so i'm not sure if i should be concerned, everything looks fine in the back without turning a wrench

To be safe you should do what I SHOULD'VE done a long time ago. Jack the back of the truck up and rotate each rear tire a quarter of a turn forwards and backwards and listen for anything questionable. Slaps, clicks, clacks, etc. The rear end will have a small amount of play in it to keep the rear end for back lashing.

I will have a SLIGHT bit of play in the rear normally. this prevents rear end backlash. (too much strain on rear end under normal driving conditions) It will be a very small amount. I verified this with 2 different mechanics to make sure, so if I'm wrong please tell me because this is what I was told.
