Haha, not yet, I'm coming around to the idea though (more curious for now) :anonymous:

I know it physically can be done, I saw the colors changed on someone's build a while back. I just have absolutely no idea how far into the stereo he had to go to do it. What scares me is it's a 5 going on 6 year old stock radio so I'm not sure it's worth spending the money swapping the LEDs when it could give out and I'd be replacing the head unit anyways. I don't know about Toyota specifically but past experience has taught me that 5 - 6 years is about all you can reasonably expect to get out of stock head units (Seemed to be like clockwork with every Ford and Chevy I've ever owned, damn near 5 years on the dot and time to replace the HU).

Shoot me a PM. I have my stock radio that you can play around with if you give me a deal on the gauge swap. I use an aftermarket radio so I could care less what happens to the stocker.

That's the one i did,i guess i didn't push the side markers in all the way!
It was real easy to do otherwise,i was afraid of wrecking the paint and thought they were in all the way,i guess not,it took driving around to loosen them up!:(

I actually did scratch the paint slightly when I put the center turn signal covers back in. The lenses were a tight fit and adding the paint just made it even tighter. Put the bottom in first so if you do scratch the paint, it's on the upper side and much less likely to be noticed.

Baking the bezels after you paint works wonders (and is also part of Viet's writeup). It really smooths out overspray and gives it a nice, smooth finish. After I pulled the headlights apart, I think I baked each one twice more to remove the old adhesive. I've heard plenty of people reusing the old stuff and being just fine but I bought new 3M Window Weld to put mine back together.

Other than that, take your time with it and do it when your wife isn't home because the whole house will stink of headlight sealant :D

I have the new headlight sealant, I got it as part of the TRS package. I told the wife a million times that I would be putting the headlight in the oven. She usually doesn't care what I do. We will see how bad the smell is.

When I did mine . It really didn't smell at all . But maybe it's different for others. I have a gas oven if that makes a difference :notsure:
My tips would be make sure the inside of the cover is clean
And make sure the shroud is attached to the projector . Epoxy, superglue whatever. Trust me sucks doing it twice because the shroud falls off inside

You should have told me you were looking for one. I had my old stock sitting in the basement. You could have taken it when you did my Gauges!
