Not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but I would like to get y'alls opinion on this, so here it goes. I have a 2011 Tacoma 4 door 4x4. It has a 2.5 inch lift, spacers in the front and blocks in the rear. It's still not quite level yet, little nose heavy still. I'd like to get another inch out of it to get it level. So I was thinking of leaving the current lift on it and getting some 5100's in the front and adjust them to an inch to get that extra lift. What do y'all think? I was told by a guy at 4wheel parts that you shouldn't "stack" lifts. Any ideas on that? Or should I take out the spacers and put 5100's on it, and adjust them to the full 3 inches?

Bad idea. Lift right the first time.

ditch spacers and buy 5100's set at .85 with OME 884 coils. buy the shocks from DownSouthmotorsports.com and coils from toyteclifts.com

Nope, 884s and 885s have the same spring rate. The 885s are just taller to provide more lift.

Yes, it is... any of the adjustable coilovers will get you to 3" of lift, 886's will do the trick also but they'll be stiff as hell (and possibly put you over 3"), Procomp coils will get you there also. There are also custom length coils that, if ordered in the correct length, will get you to 3" of lift.

If you're not going for adjustable coilovers, 885's with the top plates that come with the Toytec kit will get you to a full 3".

Was unaware 886's gave 3" of lift

It's not a great idea if you have an unarmored Tacoma. They're much stiffer than 885's and taller but it's been done. They designed to maintain lift with an excess of 200# hanging off the front, like an ARB with a winch.

Don't go by those heights listed on Toytec's website, they're not accurate at all.

There are better options out there to get to get to 3" of lift. 886's are very stiff, same with the Procomps.

I know stacking is frowned upon but the only real negative is that you could bottom out the 5100's before the lca's make contact with the bumpstop. Maybe if you move the bumps lower it would help hinder the bottoming out and destroying everything.

There's no good reason you'd use top plate spacers along with 5100's.

Maybe to get the height without the stiffness that you get when you pre load.

Will just the 5100's give me 3 inches of lift?
