4 tires on their way nitto casings only come in load range E, so i went with the bfg A/T casings in order to get D range. BFG A/Ts still have the rim guard lip by the bead though, so I think i'll be happy.

You using the Treadwrights for off road only or for pavement duty?


It would be a lot easier for me to get new tires from Treadwright than actual new BFG A/Ts, just nervous about the idea of a retread even after all the good I've read about Treadwright.

 

ok. cool. i was going to come up with a way to put it over a roof rack but that would be hard to get into.and would be really really tall. it would stick out pack my bed, but i don’t care.

 

Its been proven that high quality re-treads like treadwrights have no higher (if not lower) failure rates than brand new tires.

Every single one of our ambulances at work have re-treads on them, except the brand new trucks (only because they came from the factory with new tires )

these will be for on and off road use. they'll be on the truck 24/7, towing and all. i've seen them in person a couple of times and talked to the owners, as well s reading all about them. i'll trust them just as much as any other tire.

 

what's sad is Wieber just sold his 5.0 and is looking to sell his gsxr 1000 so he can get a newer car. I showed this to him and he hates it

Thats funny, i was just in there, thanks. How do you get different tread types, like the terra grapplers, or am i limited to the 5 types listed for a 285/70/17?

 

Thanks, i was being lazy, i googled it after i posted that.

 

you're limited to the tread types and load ranges listed. when i was mentioning nittos and BFGs, i was talking about the casings that they reuse. you can call and ask what they have/can get in that particular size and make a request from there.
