YOUR WARRENTY WILL NOT BE VOIDED BY ANY MOD WHATSOEVER UNLESS THE DEALER PROVES WITHOUT A DOUBT IT CAUSED THE ISSUE IN QUESTION.

AGAIN: THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON THE DEALER TO PROVE WHAT YOU DID FUCKED UP YOUR TRUCK

end rant, Mods, please make this a sticky

Why don't more folks look at the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act?

    Why?

It is called the Magnuson Moss Act.

It is on the dealer to provide proof that an installed component caused the related failure.

Suspension lift and your UCA's crack, that could be enough to deny a claim

Aftermarket radio installed and you rig catches fire 3 months later, good luck disproving that one.

Cold air intake and the read diff blows up, good luck Toyota.

You should see the ordeal some FJ owners are going through to get a major component fixed under warranty. The inner fender aprons are bending/bulging and cracking all the way down to the wheel well. Toyota claims that it is because of lifts/bullbars and bumpers with winches and off road use causing the problem and fighting warranty coverage. Over 3000 posts in this thread discussing the issue.

If it's bad enough or costly enough to you, then you need a lawyer. It's as simple as that. Most dealerships will bend after a lawyer contacts them (I've done it) but in the end, be honest about it. If you did something to cause the failure, deal with it. You pay to play.

That's the main reason I bought a Tacoma over an FJ (I REALLY wanted the FJ). I've been reading about that mess for quite a while and I've come to the conclusion that it's going to take a class action lawsuit to get anywhere. There is a major problem with the engineering of that vehicle and Toyota refuses to acknowledge it.

Here is a more real world way to view it all.

Its not up the the dealer to prove your add-on caused issues void the warranty, its up to you to prove it didn't.

It has also been happening to the LandCruiser Prado's since 2003 and even some current generation 4Runners are experiencing the same problems. Diffence between my FJ and the current generation Tacoma's Full boxed frame bumper to bumper instead of a "C" channel frame

I am very diligent with mine and check it once a week and document it with pictures and dates so far so good at 13,500 miles with ARB and winch with no suspension mod's. One guy to it to the state Attorney General and it went to arbitration, he won.

That is the point where contacting a lawyer is way to go...If you get to logger heads about warranty work over Moss-Mag then you need to call a lawyer to get it going again...because it IS LEGALLY their responsibility to prove it.
