Rodney King dead at 47

I am sure he did a lot of BAD things nobody knew about. I don't care that he got beat down. I don't care that he is dead.

 

It seems that Rodney King is blamed by many people for the riot that followed his arrest. But he was not the trigger that started the riot. I'd say it was the police brutality. Or the law enforcement policies in place at the time. Or, the vid taken by the neighbor. Or perhaps the posting of said vid on TV.

 

sweet, We get another NATIONAL HOLIDAY..... Paid day off every year!

Was a member of 3/17 Inf Reg Scout Plt. at Ft. Ord, when Rodney got beat. Just got back from Jungle training in Panama looking for a cold beer and a new girlfriend when I got to sit on the largest gun store in Inglewood protecting it from hookers and gangbangers. Only time I (and my guys) were shot at in anger within the good old USA. RIP Rodney King

The guy who tried to rape my wife a few years back I think deserves to be beat like he did. If not more.

 

i think theres plenty of people that deserve to be beat like/worse then that, maybe not RK at the particular time. but def plenty of peoplee that deserve there shit kicked in

Perhaps he doesn't care because he was a criminal on probation fleeing from the law and putting innocent people in danger? Why must you jump to racism?

I couldn't care less if he was black, white, asain, from the north pole or a martian. He shouldn't have been beaten, but it wouldn't have happened had he not decided to lead police on a chase while driving drunk. The fact that he was practically made a celebrity because of it shows how morbid our culture really is.

And those rioting because of him being beaten, how many where injured or killed in said riots? Makes no fucking sense.

Not side stepping it at all, read the middle of my post where I said he shouldn't have been beaten. I find it interesting how everyone knows about the beating, yet soo few seem to acknowledge the fact he was drunk and just lead police on a high speed chase.

Wording my thoughts online about this is somewhat difficult, and perhaps I may be coming off a bit cold and insensitive. He shouldn't have been beaten, that goes without saying. What I have a problem with is the way we as a society reacted. Weren't 50+ people killed in the rioting following his beating? Turn one senseless act of violence into the deaths of 50 people..
