    Hey all;

    i've been looking for a bed extender for my 2006 DCLB and I came across one called "Insta-gate". What I like about it is that there is no drilling of holes and it folds down into the gate when not in use. Just curious if anyone has one or has used one in the past.

    They have models for 2000-2005 tacomas and tundras. I'm going to assume it will fit a 2006 too if it will fit a 2005.... ?

    Thanks!

    Looks pretty cool, so how much are they setting people back on these things?

    Hell, if Bo Duke endorses it, it must be good, right?

    The company went out of business, but they are available off eBay.

    I ordered one back in late Feb and still haven't had a chance to put it on. I test fitted it so I plan to do the work when I get my Pop-n-Lock. It came with the newer style brackets meant to fit the latest models (mine's an '11) and requires that you drill into the composite cover of the tailgate. I'm trying to adapt it so it can flip down like the video shows, but the 2nd gen Tacos must have a slightly deeper tailgate than the 1st gen. If I can't make it work, I'll just mount it as the instructions show. You can easily pop it off if you want to use the tailgate for a work surface.

    Guy who was selling it was very helpful in providing instructions for the newer trucks and emailed me now and then to see if I got everything, had any questions, how the install went etc.

    Regarding a 2005+ Tacoma, Does the new hardware allow it to hang down when tail gate is open, so you can use surface space?

    i use this one on my tacoma, it works well with my low profile tonneau, installs, removes easily and stows well when not in use on the tailgate. very well made and comes with stainless hardware. I used it for a year before on my Ranger as well. its served me well.
