Been searching for 2 days now to try and find a front end pic of the setup without the grill installed on a 2nd gen. Does anyone have, or know where I can find a pic? I'm wanting to pull the trigger, but don't know if the intercooler and pump will be in the way of my undercover winch or not.

    Thanks for any help!

I had the same problem. I just did mine last weekend, I went to Pep boys and got some coolant hose, male/male connectors, and hose clamps. Then I mounted it UNDER my winch mount. You want to mount it at the lowest point of the cooling system so that no air bubbles get caught in it.

It literally took me like 30 minutes. Just clamp off the hoses a few inches from the pump so that you don't have to drain the whole system. Then disconnect the pump and relocate. Attach the new hoses and connect them to the old hoses. DONE.

    ^^ What he said

I'll try to get a picture of my setup tonight but it is a pretty tight fit and you may want to just custom mount the intercooler lower in the bumper.

Thanks! Do you have the tow package with the tranny cooler? I'm also wondering if there is anything to consider with that and the intercooler?

I do have the tow package but no transmission cooler because I am a 6 spd.

One thing I have have found with the intercooler is that is clogs very easy with dust and blocks air from the A/C condenser and radiator so I would routinely clean it out. Just a FYI.

Ah - thanks for the heads up. I actually read your entire thread about the cooling yesterday, and bookmarked it for future reference :)

Well - I pulled the trigger. Now to decide if I want to install it myself or not.

I do have another question though. I see where it states you can install yourself, then drive conservatively to the dealer for the reflash. Would it also be possible to have the reflash done first, then drive home and do the install?

Not sure about that. I know you can drive it for a while without the supercharger spinning because I have snapped a belt before and limped the truck for about 15 miles. Don't see what the difference is.

Either which way you do it, be easy and keep it as low RPM's as you can.

No reflash has to be done after. The fuel and timing control will be way off with the stock injectors. I did mine myself then drove it to the dealer. It will just run super rich before the reflash is done.

Well - I got screwed on Ebay. Did the buy it now option, went through the process - then the seller emails me and tells me the unit was sold already. So back to looking for a deal.

    Thanks for all the info!

Luckily I didn't pay. I sent a message to get the total with shipping, and he responded letting me know it was sold already.

I really need to find one soon though. Need more towing power.

I was actually about to ask that question myself. Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Keep your eyes open and check frequently. Something will turn up!

Not sure what you were going to pay on EBay. TRDparts4U has them for about 3890. I had my local dealer price match and install it for $400 plus tax. But I went that route to keep it covered under my powertrain warranty.

$3295 with the fit kit. TRDparts4U is where I'll most likely get it, unless the dealer can match. Seems most dealers are around the $1k mark for the install, so $400 is definitely a bargain. I'd prefer the dealer to do it, but not for $1k, as I know I can do it in a day and save that money. Although it's nice to have the warranty with it. If they can do it for $600 or less, I'd definitely let them do it.

This should give you a look at how the intercooler and pump are set up. If you want a wider shot, lemme know...

Thank you very much! Those shots show exactly what I needed to see. Intercooler won't be a problem. I'll have to relocate the pump though, as that's right where my winch is.
