i may have some new pics of mine after this weekend. i'm in the process of bed lining my fender flares and bumpers. the sun has taken its toll on the plastic parts and back to black and those types of products work until water hits them. so far it's looking pretty good. waiting for the first coat to dry enough that i can put on a second coat.

 

Just got back from Eagle Nest and Red River... She's all dirty...

 

Agreed. at least for 4x4ing. AND i HOPE Toyota decides to keep the MANUAL TRANS around on the 3rd gens when they come out. anyone know when?

Hey all.
I'm looking at crossover toolboxes. I'm petty much set on what I want but was wondering who has a non-low profile box in their truck and how the visibility is out the back window ? Also if you like the look or not between the LP and non-LP. I was considering black but it's gotta get screamin hot in the summer sun.

Anyone with pics of theirs ? Especially the red tacomas ?

 

you guys with the single cabs: what is the seat like ? single bench ? dual buckets ? 60/40 split ?

 

i had sort of a low profile box in my truck.

 

Bench in mine. idk if split is available. I also have manual trans so that might make a difference.

The '08 SR5 was the last year MT had bucket seats in regular cabs; now you get buckets in a regular cab only if you have AT.

 

Perfect. Exactly what I'm trying to picture. What about the color of the box. Does it get really hot ? How's the black holding up ?

The black powdercoat (from the factory) is holding up just fine. I use some degree of caution when loading things like shovels, etc., so as not to scratch it, but I have had the box approximately 10 months with not one paint-related issue.

I have not noticed the box getting that hot and it sits in the South Carolina sun.

 

I need a new truck, and I may buy a reg cab tomorrow. It's black 4x4 mt. sticker is 23xxx.I think the only option on the truck is a bull bar on the front which I will promptly remove if I can't get the the dealer to do so.What should I expect to pay for this truck in your opinions?

 

Maybe some all weather mats, but the thing is base from what I saw. I was thinking 20k
