Always hauling heavy, want small lift.

As the title says, I always have a load on my truck. Between my canopy, scott air pack, fire extinguisher, misc tools and fittings, and bed mat, I figure there is always about 600 lbs in the box of my truck. Needless to say my stock rear leaf springs have a very sad droopy look to them after almost 10 months of this treatment.

I am looking to upgrade my suspension. Would not mind something in the 2" range or smaller in the front, and really beef up the rear suspension. This truck will be loaded like this for the next 4-5 years, as I bought it for this sole purpose. Will most likely keep the stock 245/75/16 tire size. I did one feeble attempt at a search, but did not find what I was looking for. I did read the lift FAQ questions......

Also, I was wondering who is Canada's premium ultra Tacoma suspension sales company. Good parts and service?

In the end, I do use my truck everyday in muddy rough conditions, so I do not want some cheap pavement princess lift. Rough tough and rugged is what I need.

 

Have you considered airbags?

I have never really been a fan of airbags. Might seriously consider them if there is overwhelming recommendations for airbags.

Off to research dakar rear leafs.

 

The Daks will give you 2 - 2 1/2 " if lift with the weight you are going to be hauling all the time

 

Those are likely your best two options, dakars or bags.

If you plan to haul heavier or start to see the dakars sag the air bags are a nice add on to prevent sagging happenings again.

I did the TSB and mine are getting axle wrap and a lil sagging already due to towing a boat. I plan to integrate some leafs from my old spring set and then do some bags as well to solve the issue from coming back.

I second the dakars. Absolutely love my OME lift.

 

This is exactly what I want for my 2012 trd off road, but mainly for rear. Question for experts: , normal ones and heavy duty expedition. What do you think about them?

 

The Expos are good for hauling but will lift you 3-4"

 

x2 they are great. you will not be disappointed!!! Had them for about a year and havent bottomed out once.

 

Did you change something in front? Did you change the rear shocks? How is the ride?

 

He has Bilstein 5100 shocks front and rear , I'm guessing the fronts are preloading the coils to provide lift

FYI , if you hover the mouse icon over the blue box under someone's username , it usually has their truck specs in it

OZ-T is correct, 5100's in the front set at 1.75 to level it off. I also did the Bilstein 5100's in the rear when I installed the new leaf pack. Been about a year since I installed the new pack and couldn't be happier. I tow a pretty good size boat and load the truck down and never bottom out. Worth every penny.
