Build a pressure vessel for your TPMS sensors.

 

The sensors are the only thing holding air in your tires..do you really want to rig it, then loose the air going down the highway?

 

You can do this, and just put a rubber valvestem in. But op asked about tpms in his new wheels

 

put standard nipples in take bulb out of dash and do your routine maintenance.

 

Just throwing it out there as an option.

 

It worked for some people, but subsequent tire removal carries the risk of damaging the TPMS unless the mechanics knows about it.

Unfourtinately there easy to break..most auto parts stores carry them for that reason.

 

My 2011 rolled off the factory floor with nitrogen only inside. Had the green stem cap too. No dealer gimmick, in fact the salesman was unsure why the caps were green so he looked it up and apparently certain models come with nitrogen filled tires only. not sure why

 

if you put shop air the caps still fit

someone mentioned once it was because they wont lose air pressure. thats bs cause i fill tires up on corporate jets (all pressurized aircraft use n2 in the tires)all the time. they lose pressure.

I have the Mickey Thompson Classics. My TPMS sensors are rotated 180 degrees since the truck had steel wheels. It works fine this way but when you do go to a tire shop to have work done, you need to tell them to break the bead not near the valve stem so they don't hit it by accident. You also need to be careful not to run on a flat tire since your tpms sensor is now sticking out away from the rim a little bit.

I tried making the canister several times and it didn't work. Wouldn't hold air.

I also have a set of the TPMS strap sensors. They didn't work with the Mickey Thompson rims due to the curvature of the inside of the rim (they kept sliding down). With that said, I'm looking to sell the sensor straps for $25 including shipping to whoever wants them (I think I paid around $40 if I remember right).
