Changing my spark plugs this weekend, couple questions

All my toothbrushes go from the bathroom to the garage. LOL.

thats what I like about Dollar General. one dollar and toss. got a few toilet brushes there and cleaned under the truck and in those tight spots in the engine compartment.

 

Great... now I'm fretting.

How hard is it to take the entire throttle body off? Just a few hoses and bolts?

And where is that IAC valve you (and others I read) are talking about? If I take the TB off, is the IAC part of that whole assembly or will it remain in the engine?

And how hard is it to put those new gaskets on properly?

Lastly, I got the Denso plugs from the dealer, is it okay if I use the NGK wires? And can I always change the wires later if I do the plugs this weekend and don't have the wires until next week?

Last question...

If I just remove the negative battery terminal at the beginning of this procedure and then replace it at the very end, is that enough to reset my ECU (or whatever needs to be reset once every thing is cleaned up?)

 

its not hard, just take your time.
everything is so simple on toyota's, it makes me laugh.
on mine, i got a little tube of gasket maker, and i put a dab on the little gasket for the IAC valve.
its easier to clean the Iac valve by taking the throttle body off, just remember when you take the throttle body off, put a large rag on the hole!
when ordering the new gaskets, there will be two, the larger throttle body gasket that is like a big d and the smaller one for the IAC to throttle body. its small thread like rubber.

and make sure you get plenty of cleaner (TB) i ended up using 5 cans. i sprayed heavy and let it soak in.

so did I, and when I got into it, it was DIRTY!!!!!! like i said i spent two day, and like a fool did not wear gloves, and had bleeding knuckles from the cleaner


no, a small amount will drip out not alot at all. a small coolant/heater line goes through the valve to warm it up.

i think that is for the eco sensitive people

The trickiest part is reconnecting the two little coolant hoses when you put it back on. there is not a lot of play, and it is hard to orient them correctly until the TB is back on. Reuse the original clamps, and make sure the prongs are facing you so you can grab them and adjust the hoses after the TB is in place.

Yeah, I saw that and almost did it, but really, I don't think it will make any worthwhile difference.
