And how many Kings games have you watched before playoffs? Nothing the Kings or most of the west does was ever publicized in your media, so of course you wouldnt know the only reason Kings made it to the playoffs is because of Quick. When you're 29th in scoring, ur goalie is everything. Its a miracle we even made it to the playoffs, and thats because Quick put the team on his shoulder and led the league in goalie stats at the same time.

Quick also played under more pressure, knowing that with a team that throughout most of the season couldnt get two pucks in the net during a game he had no room for error and he performed incredibly well. The playoffs were the same he's been all season, its just no one cared and watched kings games outside of LA until the playoffs began.

 

I think there were 9 or 10 games during the regular season where Quick let in less than 2 goals, usually 1 goal and the Kings still lost in reg. Knowing if you let in 2 or more goals your team will lose is serious pressure. I would argue he played better in the regular season, but this wont be Quick only Venzina nomination year.

 

I was going to say the same about him actually playing better during the regular season, but his numbers during the playoffs were unheard of. 1.4X GAA is incredible. Yup, Quick's gonna be nominated again, and he'll win it eventually lol.

Should they not be happy for him? He is capable of being a top line centre on a lot of teams in the league, and frankly he deserves a shot at it. He is a great player!

Anyone that understands anything about the CAP, basic economics and career tracks knows the Pens would never be able to keep all 3 centers for very long. The big 3 tie up about $21mil or the cap, or 1/3. Crosby is due for a new contract, no matter what you resign him. Malkin was MVP, you can't really trade him right now, so Staal is odd man out. Look at Staal's POV. 23 yrs old, already has a cup, selke candidate, only gets 3rd line and PK time, huge frame. Lots of potential. Unless another center moves he will forever be a 3rd line center. Why the fuck would you want to stay in Pitt with limited ice time, crappy 3rd linemates (Cooke), and lower income. Hell get 5.5 max in Pitt, why would Pitt pay that to a 3rd line center? He can get 7 just about anywhere else and a chance to shine. Its a no brainer for Staal.

Problem for Pitt now is do you make a run with 1 more yr with him and let him walk UFA, maybe get a pick for his rights at the end or the yr? Risk injury? Or do you trade him now for the best offer eventhough he will be nothing more than rental value? Im not sure what I would do, Pens need a top 6, and a top 4 D man. The Draft will be interesting.

The guy just won the god damn cup and conn smythe, who cares. He's one of the quietest guys on the team, never talks much during interviews, he finally let out some steam. Even Hank said 'That felt good' after dropping an f-bomb in his speech lol

If that's all you have on Quick is his f-bomb incident which occurred while he was drunk and enjoying his championship like crazy, that's awesome actually. He's paid to stop pucks which he does better than any other goalie right now, not to give interviews. If that's the only thing u can shit talk him on, enjoying a victory and drinkin a bit too much, go ahead, no one cares. let's see how ur team speaks if they ever win
