No if your paying for a product then you deserve it to be done right. I would be pissed too if i had to wait that long for a product but like others have said he knew there was a long wait and should have thought about it more.

My point was that for all we know the OP could be full of shit about the problem and just trying to ruin Relentless Fab's reputation. If this had happened to me I would have made sure Eric knew exactly what I wanted whether it be I drew up something with specs and everything or he drew it up and I approved it before anything even began getting made and money being sent out. The time it took for the product to be made and delivered is a whole different story.

EDIT: by drew up i mean the design for the cut out or whatever was done wrong.

You at least have a reputation here, OP has 37 posts on each of the 3 forums he posted this on, seems like he would rather flame RF rather than grab his nutsack and pick up a phone to resolve the matter courteously.

Yes I would. If you're gonna complain and expect people to support your stance, provide some evidence to sway people to your side.

From a family who runs more than one successful business, Yes he should have researched the Vendor before he sent his money. Only an idiot would send somebody money without knowing the reputation of the person.

That's the whole point is was it worth causing a PUBLIC stir. And it is UNECESSARY to call people names dude, especially someone I know, thank you! THAT is what causes resentments in the first place!

yeah i get that. Forget i said anything about the time. I agree that it was wrong on Eric's part that he told him 3 months and got it in 7.

I think that he should prove that the cutout was not what he wanted and that he had clear communication with Eric over what he wanted.

so its his fault he didnt research the business and got the wrong product and waited double the time. haha wow, people amaze me, go bend over for some more vendors.

a public stir, yes? if nothing was resolved hell yes it needs to go public. like the OP did, maybe not. but public, yeah! im a name caller, get over it.

i dont understand how this is the ops fault that he waited 7 months and got the incorrect product (so he says)

so please, EXPLAIN this to me. i would love to hear it

I had to deal with the same thing from Camburg, and from Shrockworks, and from All Pro, and from the shop that's now fabricating my rear axle. I've also received incorrect parts from vendors after an exceptionally long wait, which in turn caused catastrophic failure and cost me thousands to repair related items.

Each time I took it up with the vendor in a private and professional manner and got it resolved.

Custom stuff takes time and all vendors are guilty of the same things. Ranting on a public forum does nothing to rectify the situation but is very effective in making the submitter look like Dawson to the community.

Alright guys, havent read through this whole thread but I do want to reply...

Here are some pics of the bumper if none had been posted, just for clarity:

    2012-06-08_18-46-20_941_5e913740bccd11c1fd3c00b79d291a0e4a1ea4f9.jpg
    2012-06-08_18-46-00_594_95eebeba9e951286464b0c8d0519c005eaaa5b4a.jpg

Customer requested a bumper with long horn cut in, I cut it into the bumper in the standard placement in the center lower face.
Notified customer that the plate was cut/formed and longhorn was there as requested, but he said he wanted his license plate to go there. I explained that he could mount it higher up on the top face or on a clip on mount if he installed a winch. Customer (after several emails back and forth) says he wants to ditch the longhorn, be charged for the associated material/forming/cutting costs and then build him a bumper with standard cutouts.
Fast forward a bit. I receive threatening email from customer stating he wants the bumper shipped that day, or a full refund by the next day. I agree, state the bumper is 90% complete, and request the $80 for the longhorn plate(which was actually less than my time/materials). He states he doesnt want to pay it any more, and to once again build and ship him the longhorn bumper. I agree and build the bumper with the longhorn(this is a thursday).
Monday morning I receive an email stating he didnt receive tracking info(sorry, fastenal doesnt really do that) and he wants his refund. I immediately call him, assuring him the bumper has been shipped, yet he doesnt believe me so I have Fastenal call him directly to notify him that the bumper has been shipped out and was in their hands.

This was the last I've heard til this thread.

Oh, and the customer also received free shipping($125) for his lengthy wait, as I know the length was far too long.

I NEVER said it was his fault. Just said he should have researched it and NOT do a public bashing. I would be mad, IF what he said is true, but I would not have done it in the same manner. And name calling on a public forum is NOT cool! Especially to some I know and especially to someone expressing their opinion like everyone else. And judging from the website under your name, you sir, are bashing due to your loyalty for a competitor, and THAT is not cool. Any names to be called, do it to their face, not on a public forum to get attention.
