My dad said that when I turn 16. I can have my truck but NO MODS. Cant take anything off and sell it to make for better mods.

He also said that I could get a different truck but NOT AS NICE... What is going on?!?!?!?!?!?!:mad::mad::mad:

What happened to my dad? He used to be with me 100% and now he puts me down about everything I want to do to MY truck.

He wont let me keep them in our garage. Nor will I pay for a rent garage.

I am so bummed about this.. Ive always wanted to mod my cars/trucks and he was cool with it. Now that its about to happen he just puts it down.

Just get a job and pay for them yourself. If he isn't happy with that then move out. :D

dood. My first ride was a crap brown 1980 honda civic hatchback. It took me till the age of 34 before i could get a new tacoma. I bought it for myself. Be very happy with what you are getting at the tender age of 16.

Well when I turned 15 I told my dad that when I got a car that i was going to mod it. He said that was fine "Im with ya 100%." and even a few weeks ago he said that.

    Now its just constant put-downs:(

Be quiet and be happy. Show some appreciation for the $$ your dad laid out and some respect for your dad's authority. He paid for it, he can say whatever he wants. my god.

Way I see-doesn't matter man- His money put your ass in that truck...What he says-goes.

I worked my ass off for two summers to save enuf to buy my car....payed for the car outright (a 1989 sunbird is NOT expensive) and covered the insurance and had money left over to mod it up...and I did.

Roll out and get yourself a truck and do whatever you'd like to it....or be grateful that your folks are in a position to put you in a nice truck like that and drive it like you are proud of it.

That sucks but you are damn lucky to have a Tacoma as your first ride. It took me a lot of sweat, and a few years of work before I had saved up enough to aford my first ride. By the time I had enough $$ I was 18 years old!

You are whining like a spoiled-ass kid...

I bought my first truck... And, every vehicle since...

It doesn't matter who drives it... Who pays/paid for it?

Want to add mods? Buy the truck from your Dad, and then do whatever you want...

Easy with the bashing! We all have stuff to rant about. It's no biggie. If he is upset that he can't mod his truck yet just let him vent. It's ok.

I'm not trying to bash anyone...

Some people just don't have any idea how lucky they are...

I won't chime-in anymore... I've had a rough day which is probably not helping...

    No hard feelings

I lean the same way, when you buy your own truck with your own money then you can do whatever you want with it. When Dad buys you a truck with his money, then he has every right to tell you want you can and can't do with it. Jeez, you're getting a brand new truck handed to you at 16, I would have been kissing my Dad's ass if I thought he would have actually bought me a new truck. Different in your world obviously.
