Is that the rear bumper that's now on my truck?

No wonder it took me an hour to get all the mud out of it

I just changed out the gas filter under the plenum
2.7L and it was easy. Jack up front and remove the front wheel, move the plastic covering out of the way, undo the 2 banjo bolts and then the 2 mounting bolts. Replace the washers supplied with the new one and reassemble.
I don't have small hands and I had plenty of room. I don't know why some people said it's a pain in the ass.
It took me less than an hour. The gas that came out of it looked like tea.

2 of 8 TC alignment cam tabs burned in. Not as much fun as one might expect. I am thinking that the passenger side might just get a bead of weld behind the factory tabs rather than tearing them out and replacing.

Waiting for the spark plug wires to come in so I can do everything at once:

    Spark plugs
    Wires
    MAF cleaning
    TB cleaning
    Throttle cable tightening

    And then engine detail

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
while i am here let me ask... have you checked your pvc valve?
and the O2 sensors? do you know if or when they have been changed? now I keep forgetting to check, stupid i know, but since the time i got the truck and now my mpg hasf really improved. and the o2 sensors were the icing on the cake. cranking, idling, and really the way it revs.

Nope. Have no idea what that is.

    Nope.

Pretty sure they haven't... but I'm gonna go with "nope" for consistency sake

Well, I'm getting about 22.5 - 23.0 mpg right now with a V6 and it idles and revs fine, as far as I can tell.

So the spark plugs, wires and TB and MAF cleaning is what I'm going to stick to for now.

I'M sorry i meant pcv valve here is a good link i used when I got my truck.
    http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/tacoma_4runner_30k/maintenancep5.htm

well I am a firm believer in taking your time and don't bit off for than you can chew,

and if you did not know the pcv valve is one of those shittly little things that if it gets clogged it will fuck your day up, pull it out and shoot some TB cleaner through it.

well she had 178,000. now I'm not sure if they were the original or not, but when i was changing the 1st sensor, I had taken the trans boots off inside the truck to unhook it and it was tied together like it came from the factory, there is something about this in the online instructions... but still the motor was in such a sorry state of tune, the carbon was caked on, and before i took the pic some had fell off. I try to tell people if you keep it tuned good, all these other little parts will last longer.
