I received an Ruger P95 as a gift, and I gotta say, its a nice gun! Comfortable.......Good sized. Havent gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but I have been dry firing the shit out of it (using dummy rounds). The trigger was initally pretty "jerky", and not very smooth. After a good cleaning, and about 100 trigger pulls, its much improved. Not quite the fluid pull of my Sig, but very close! Slide action is nice! Everything is tight. One thing Im impressed with, is in the owners manual, it states "There is no known 9mm ammo produced that will exceed the engineered pressure limits of this firearm...." Looking at how beefy the chamber is, I dont doubt it! Now.......WHERE to find Sub gun ammo!! :D

    GAH!!!!

Seems smooth enough right now. I'll give it time before I start sanding things. I want to make sure the reliablility is 100% first.

Nice looking sidearm. Ruger has always been known to over-engineer their guns. The redhawks and super redhawks are monsters in the revolver world.

So would this be a compact pistol size? The barrel is 3.9 inches right.

P95? Hell, if you run out of ammo - just throw it.

I've heard they are great guns, albeit a little bulky.

Its actually pretty light. Specs say 22oz. empty. its about the same weight as my Sig, and a little heavier than my baby Glock. And I NEVER run out of ammo

Chris; not a Ruger fan.... Sorry to hear that.
Many of the new pistols are made right here in Arizona!
And, they ARE making some great new stuff at prices that makes glocks sick....

Congrats on the new family member and shoot safe.

    Sorry for the thread hi-jack...........

Glock has a little known factory special..........if you are current or retired LEO with credentials you can get a deal on Glocks...........got my 4th gen Model 23 for $425.........not bad for a new Glock with 3 mags. You have to ask your gunshop, they won't tell you!!! Weapon has to be ordered from Glock, not for in store-in stock merchandise.

I have a p95 and love it. May not be as sexy as some other guns out there, but it shoots straight and is nice and reliable. A set of rubber pull over grips makes the grip a little nicer.

A little bulky for carry for me, but its a great range gun and mine sits in the night stand for things that go bump in the night
