Solid motor and transmission mounts

I also adjusted my transmission linkage so it goes into each gear more solid. It vibrates quite a bit at idle but feels normal once you start moving. Took it through some decent whoops and my shifter doesnt move at all :)

In the picture with the trans mount you can see where the arm comes down from the shifter in the cab, there is a nut right there that connects it to the arm that goes forward to the transmission . What you want to do is make the shifter clunk in to "D" and the same spot where the transmission arm clunks into "D". Im pretty sure I remember you said when your in "D" the red dot is showing in "N" right? Mine was on the edge of going to the "N" and when I loosened the nut I moved it forward until they both went into all of the positions at the same time. Make sure you block you wheels, turn the ignition on but leave the motor off and when your under the truck you can move it from "D" to "N" without pushing the button on the shifter. I think its harder to explain in words than it is to actually do

For anyone running the stock rubber engine mounts I would suggest at least buying new ones. Mine were cracked almost all the way through and who knows how close it was to completely ripping apart. Also look at the aluminum elbow that comes off the power steering pump by the passenger side UCA. Mine has a few gashes in it from hitting my UCA gussets.

Edit: the gashes are not on the power steering pump, its on the elbow from the AC compressor

Just from the little dirt I hit and driving my truck on the road today I am amazed at the difference with the soild mounts. Yes it vibrates like a bitch but I can actually feel the suspension moving now. Before even when I hit smaller bumps like expansion joints on the freeway I could sort of feel a chugging or the suspension kind of bouncing, but now I know it was the motor flopping around. Its hard to explain but everything in the front end feels tighter, where before I kinda bounced on square edge bumps, I can now feel the suspension compress and return and stop, no bouncing. I'm even convinced I can feel more torque when I punch the gas :D

Those are the ones I have. I think the only difference between these and the Trail Gear bomb proof ones is the LCE ones have a little nipple off the top next to that upper bolt. That does not line up with the V6 so I ground it flat, other than that they lined up all of the bolt holes. The Trail Gear ones do not have that nipple at all so I didnt think it was a huge issue to grind it off mine

BTW I didnt mention I used an engine hoist, I figured you could pick up the engine with one hand and rip out the mounts with the other hand :p
