My cheap rim mod

I never did like my Gulf Coast rims and couldn't wait to get rid of them, but really couldn't justify spending big bucks on rims especially with both of my girls in sports and other school functions. I came across one free spare rim with a tire and decided that I wanted to go with that look. It took me six months to get all four rims. I got two for free and paid $25 each for the other two. Not a bad deal.

After I washed them they were sanded with a red/green scotch brite pads. I then painted them with krylon bbq & stove rattle can paint. I also sanded and painted the center hubs. I have a buddy who works at Toyota and he hooked me up with the instal. I like the way they turned out...Sorry for the cappy IPhone pics...

They look good but in my opinion just a hold off until you can get some KMCs or at least some sport wheels if you like that look or some OffRoads of hell if you save up enough and wanna stay with Toyota get some antercite wheels off an FJ

That would be great for snow tires. I used to have a set of steel rims with some really sick snow tires mounted on them. I'd put them on in December and take them off in April. Saved wear on the alloy and summer tires I had.
Time to start shopping around again.

My wife wants me to paint the fender flares black. I'll probably do it. I'm just doing some research on the best way to do it.
