Just finished setting up a "gasket binder" for my spare Harley gaskets. Maybe now I'll stop loosing gaskets and be able to find them when I need them.

Start by adding insulation. Then a window unit or run a duct that you only open when you plan to be in there.

 

Already insulated. No windows. I looked into running a duct and it's against code in every state in the US to run a duct from the home into the garage.

 

Really? I have one running from my house into my garage. I don't live in city limits and didn't have to be inspected though.

 

Yes,I looked it up on,one and also called the city. You cannot run a duct through the firewall that separates your living space from your garage.

Another reason given was that CO can make its way into your house since there is a direct connection. I find that to be a bit of a stretch though.

 

I just have an outlet, not a return. I wonder if that is the difference.

 

That's what I was going to do as well, but it's still illegal apparently.

I even made a thread on here about it a month ago, and several folks said it was a no-no.

 

I can't wait to have my own home/garage.

 

Portable A/C

 

While not cheap; that is a decent solution.

 

Something like this, price isn't bad and they offer larger units.

At work we had a customer that had a good sized portable AC unit for their server room. It worked ok; but it was in a room that wasn't much bigger than a bathroom and had a couple of servers in there. I know they rate them like regular ACs but they just don't cool like regular ACs do.

Thought of that, but where do I run the exhaust to? No windows in the shop.

 

I could be wrong, but I don't think you have to it is designed to just have in a bedroom and around the house.

 

It has a hose out the back that vents hot air and moisture from the condensing process. You have to vent it out a window

 

Cut a hole and pipe it out we put up one of the a/c units on the side of our workshop where you can't see it.

Another option would be those thin A/C units that are very sleek and not require as much of the wall be cut out to put up.

 

Cut a hole in my brick house ? Too bold for me.

I looked into the ductless ac's, the sleek ones. $3k installed.
