yah Burke has been quiet for a reason, JVR is locked until 2018 at 4.25mil cap hit, but hes a rear loaded contract not front

Lu however is locked until 2022 and very much front loaded where Burke cant stand, atleast hes not going to have to pay him 10 mil like the nucks did though

Could you imagine if Gillis had to see his old goalie on HNIC every night? Not sure how that would go over, so why not ship Luongo to Florida where there's a fraction of the hockey coverage?

 

Yeah, I would have to agree. I dont blame Lu for putting the kaibosh on T.O. either. Not only is the weather nicer in Florida, but there will be a lot more home-cooked meals and less media attention. It may not look as impressive on a hockey card, but you gotta think playing pro hockey in Florida is the best. Anonymity=freedom.

 

I dont think its a true report yet, but like you said i wouldnt blame him. Our leafs fan base have already purchased guns, ammo, and scopes when we heard there was a chance he would be traded here.

Luongo is a solid goalie. He was a finalist for the Vezina just last year, and came within one win of lifting Lord Stanley's Cup. The reality is that he has recieved much harsher criticism than he deserves. If it weren't for his retarded contract teams would be lined up to take him.

 

Heard Shane Doan is gonna test free agency. Fuck we will take him.

Doan should stay in PHX, afterall isn't that what he always said, that he wants to stay in PHX and lead them to a Championship?

 

Hell no, Doan in LA will never happen, plus Dean isn't interested in really doing anything big this offseason. He thinks we can improve the team through motivation and having the young guys mature.

 

He would have no trouble finding a taker in AB or BC. Edmonton needs a veteran leader who packs some muscle. Mind you, they need some Defensemen even more. While Vncouver would prefer a Centreman, but they are always looking for muscle these days... at the end of the day, who wouldn't want a guy like Doan, especially come playoff time?
