Sounds good, What was MSRP on the truck ?

Hey bud, im looking for a truck aswell and my dealerships in CT wont budge much at all, Going to take a ride down to Mass one of these days.

Which dealer did you try ? I notice Harr and Balise in MA seem to advertise some fair pricing online.

Either way please update me on how you make out, im looking for similar options just with a LB truck . If you pay 31 out the door im taking a ride out to MA this weekend !

thanks bud and keep us updated.

    Mine was a

    2012 DCLB
    Mag Grey
    4x4 SR5
    alloy wheels
    Tow package
    Sticker $31,800-ish

$28,500 after haggling, and some financing incentives

    - $2k for my beat ass jeep in trade

+ Leer cap and tube steps

$29,750 out the door, the whole damn thing at 3.50% for 5 years financing

Anybody else have any issues with the final paperwork?

I know that it always takes hours, and is a pain in the ass, but I felt like the stealership was really tryin to screw me. Everything was wrong, and the numbers just didnt add up. Thank god my wife and I were paying attention, while we haggled, worked out pricing, and got quotes for the aftermarket stuff I wrote it all down.

When we finally sat down for "delivery of the truck" the actual truck cost was more than we agreed, The cost of the cap and steps was higher than I was quoted, and they did up all of the paperwork for a 6 year loan at a higher interest rate than what we discussed. If just agreed to sign with what they handed me, I would have lost thousands of dollars.

Pay attention to what they agree to, and to what you are signing BEFORE you sign it

I think being up in the north east you are going to pay more than some other places just based on the area you live in. I paid more for my Tacoma in PA, than my brother did somewhere in the south dakota area and I felt like I got a good deal

Dont hesitate to go to several different dealers until you find one you like. If someone is being a DB walk away

"Dealer cost" is $28,812 according to truecar.com.

$360 below dealer cost and $1411 below invoice.

I am not too sure how accurate truecar.com is. I've never bought a new vehicle before.

.....Trick I use when buying a NEW vehicle is to look at the "inventory serial numbers" (not sure what they are actually called) of the cars on the lot. The lower the number, the longer it's been on the lot. Brand new vehicles don't move as much nor generate as much profit as pre-owned....and they are looked at as "space" on the lot. It costs the dealership $ to hold that parking space. The reality is that they could have moved a couple pre-owned instead of having a new vehicle sitting there the whole time.

Anyway....at some point/threshold the dealer decides its best to cut their losses and sell the vehicle cheap in order to free up that spot.

I suppose they could just transfer them to other dealers...again I don't know what threshold justifies the dealership to just cut them loose on the cheap.

I've got 3 dealerships going back and forth now. Still can't get them to budge on prices. Been going at this for a few weeks now. What is it with the northeast and not budging at all? They all seem to think $500 off is a killer deal.... not so much. I didn't have this problem 5 years ago. I'm also a returning customer at one of these dealers. You would think that they'd want most of these vehicles off the lot with the '13s coming out within the next few months. I'm trying to get out the door prices. I don't know, I'm at a loss for words right now...

You're gonna have to fly to MD and buy. Not that far, and it's a good 2-3k difference.

Griffin407c, it looks like you're military. Try USAA car buying service. I got an awesome price through that, then talked the dealer in to knocking another $212 off on top by having 2 dealers compete.

Also, finance through Navy Federal Credit Union. They welcome all branches and I've never seen anyone beat their rates. I've used them 2x now and both times I got 2-3% lower rates than competitors and it get approved in and hour and they will overnight your check.

Picked up my truck today. Upped it to $31,106 out the door. I needed some floor mats.

griffin I see your somewhat from my area, which dealer ships have you tried? any in MA ?

Ive had the same issue with the dealers in CT not budging much, they rave about the $500 off and try to add in bullshh like car washes or oil changes ... Have you checked out Harr Toyota and Balise Toyota in MASS . Im going to head their next when I have some spare time, they advertise some good pricing online. Im going to see what they are about. Check them out , maybe you gave give me the scoop.
