265/75/16 regear in a 2.7?

Anybody running 265/75/16's in a reg cab have to regear?

You could but I don't really see the point, I'm running 265's on my Prerunner and it still has plenty of power.

 

If you do think about regear also buy lockers at the same time Cost a lot but worth it

 

is your prerunner a 2.7?

 

Yep, and I've also got 17" steel FJ wheels instead of the stockers too.

 

I am running 265/70/17's on my 2.7 reg cab. I can notice the difference, but nothing major. I have no issues keeping up with freeway speeds.

 

I have that size on my 2.7L AC and barely noticed the difference. Regearing for such a small difference would be a waste of money IMO. Don't think I'll do it even if I move up to 33s.

 

i noticed a little diffference with 265/75/16. got rid of the steelies got new wheels. feels like it did before.

 

33x12.5s here and no regear just relearn to drive it..

 

I notice a little power loss with my 265's and I have the 4.0L. I currently have a heavy ass wheel/tire combo, though.

 

It would be nice to have the RPM's a bit higher on my 32's with 16x8.5's but you get used to not using 5th at 45mph. Just have to drive differently.

 

same here, a little more lethargic in the gears, but nothing bad. at least the speedo is accurate now.

 

Yeah! I bought a set last weekend, and noticed that instead of my Speedo being 3-4 mph higher than it actually was, it was accurate. I noticed a little more "lethargy" as well, sometimes the transmission seems to not be able to make up its mind.
