So I've ordered new coils for the front (and yes I have bilstein adjustable struts) and a full new rear end suspension: bilstein 5100, darkar leafs, bushings, brake line extention, the entire works...

the question I have for you TW is... How hard is it to install the rear end parts? I was quoted $800 for install/alignment and the majority of it is for the rear end...

Depends on you skill level and if you have somewhere to do it. honestly before I probably would have looked at a different shop cuz that price is nuts. But I would of had a shop do it, now I would take a few days, do it myself, or invite a friend over to help.

are there any specialized tools that you can think of? I can't think of any for the back... unlike the front for the spring compressors

Off the top of my head no. I didnt install my rear but I've helped on a 2nd gen or two and pre tacos. Just some wrenches and the usual. Possibly BFH as well:D

Just use the write ups here and take it slow and you will have it in no time.

Did the clutch spring swap and it is soooo nice! I keep going to flip the clutch pedal back to where it should be and it's already there. I don't know what my foot is gonna do now haha. No more play in the clutch and not to mention no more annoying ass plastic bushing squeaking. Loving it!

Must be a great store, i've never seen a park kit art any of the hardware or gun shops around here.

Do it yourself. Have a shop put the coil springs on, other than that no special tools, wrenches, torque wrench, hammer/dead blow, spanner wrench. If you don't have them its a good excuse to:D

My spare is the original also. 10+ yrs old. I did a visual inspection and it just looked dirty. Checked the air pressure and it was down just 2#s. Topped it off and cranked it back up. I did that 3 months ago. Probably time to crank it back down and see if it's losing any air. I only need it go get me to the next tire shop but I want to make sure it'll get me there.

I took it down and saw it was only at 20psi. I filled it up to 35 and let it sit outside for 4 days and it was still at 35. But I had a feeling once I put the weight of my truck on it, those cracks would widen up and leak/possible blow the tire. It may have been fine, but I had a 2 year old tire for free that matches my existing tires so I thought it was a no brainer. I wanted a reliable spare for if I got a flat out in the boonies nowhere near a tire shop.
