The engine was placed almost directly over the front tires, somewhat offset by the weight of the longer rear. The Army looked at it for a while, but gave up on the idea. The Russians built a nearly identical vehicle for their military, one version fitted with a rocket launcher to take out aircraft.

We used to do that (nose stands) with the Army's M113 armored personnel carrier. The engine was mounted well up front, making it comparatively lightweight in the rear. Reversing the tracks at speed while unloaded nearly always resulted in a nose stand. Once it got nearly vertical, the weight of the engine would pretty much keep it from going all the way over (always a risk though, so a real thrill).

He is getting the lockrite locker part number 1620. It locks when you accelerate and isn't locked when off the gas for turning and stuff like that! lol

EDIT: I am backing out on the Runner's guys. I spoke with my mom about it for some advice and she said that I should keep the car and build my credit better and keep the car. I still got the Pre-Taco though. Gotta make it not so noisy now!

I had moved a few things around. I didn't realize the link was moved to the bottom, where it falls off-screen due to signature size. Fixed now.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
After reading it, all I see is someone who is a web mechanic with maybe an engineers background. You can talk about energy loss to heat, but if that's one of your main arguing points, its mute. Why not talk about energy loss through sound, radiation, vibration, etc. I won't claim to be an expert in power consumption through gear chains and what else, but my mechanical engineering degree tells me enough that he hasn't covered all his bases and is arguing with only one thing he is competent on. It's easy to be able to go off half cocked and still defend yourself on the internet. I'd just ignore him. It's not like his web insults make you any less of a competent mechanic.

Appears to be another one of the Canadians who think they know it all and doesn't listen to anyone. No offense to Canadians but I have found a few of them who think they know it all and don't listen to anyone no matter what their experience.

I know. I think it was funny when he couldn't find fault in any of my facts, so instead started attacking my character and experience. Not everyone knows about ASE certification, but for those that do, they know that those who ARE certified, are not just "wrench turners", but skilled and intelligent people with serious knowledge.

The guy is a douche Bill. I probably shouldn't have replied, but I did. It's annoying as hell when someone pops in Google ready, and tries to prove what they found in the I.interwebz rather then learning first hand.

my dad was a certified diesel and not sure what level auto master tech for either 27 or 29 years. he is who i get most of my answers from, but he sure as heck wont turn a wrench anymore!! HA!! he either tells me how to do it for him or he takes it to the dealership and pays them. but i guess you dont have to worry about stuff like that when you have brand new cars and wont keep one past 4 years (job req'd) and my mom is spoiled but dont tell her i said that.....

well to give an example she had a 2009 or 2010 lincoln mkz and it had like 14k on it. they went on vacation last year and she saw a 2011 in a color she liked better and it was a hybrid so she told dad she HAD to have it........ they came home in a new car.

best part is they are going back to their condo next week and ive already heard her talking to my sisters about a different color that this color and her grew apart and she doesnt care much for it anymore. :notsure:

Hybrids are nice. I would love to have the new Volt by Chevy. I know it has it's problems, but I like it.
My sister has a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid and gets a nice 43 MPG!
