Thought I'd share. It's my second video since I got the GoPro camera and my fourth ride on the new Trek.

I have demoed them, can't get on the bandwagon just yet. Feels like a clown bike underneath me. There are a lot of people that love them though...

Give me a week or two more of riding and I'll report back. The full suspension XC was just more than I needed now. I don't race anymore or down hill on a regular basis so the 29er should be sufficient.

The comment had to do with a recent 40 mile ride in 95 degree heat with 75% humidity in blazing ass sunshine with about the same amount of shade opportunities, it was not about your camera angle, lol. :D

I have a 12 Stumpjumper FSR in 26inch. This weekend Specialized had a Demo and I rode a 12 S-Works Carbon 29er in the same bike at the demo ($9,900 retail). I wasn't a very big fan. When climbing really steep sections, I felt like I couldn't lean forward far enough to keep the front wheel from coming off the ground. On one hill I normally ride up I had to step off 3/4 from the top. It may take some getting used to and I know it was an amazing bike, I just couldn't see how anyone could justify spending $7,000 more than what my bike cost.

At first the 29'er felt like I was 10 riding my big brother's bike (which is weird, because I don't have a brother). And I had the same issues with feel, and trying to "weight" myself on the bike the right. But I found I adjusted after a few rides, the same way I do with any new bike. Now, I'm absolutely loving it,though, to be fair, it's an upgrade from my hardtail in several ways.

One thing to know is that two 29'ers can feel completely different. I don't think things have changed, but at least at first, there was no standard way of building them. Some stretched the frames, putting you above the wheels like a 26'er, thus making you feel as though you were on a penny farthing, while others, like my beloved Stumpjumper, re-designed the cockpit, sitting you more in between the wheels, so you aren't really higher. My old ride, my seat towered over my stem, while on Stumpy it is almost parallel.
