Bullrun Rally drivers cited for speeding

JOHN DAY, Ore. - Four drivers taking part in an organized road rally face speeding citations after police in Nevada and Idaho alerted authorities in Oregon to be on the lookout for the cars.

One of the drivers was cited a second time for speeding after spinning his tires and tearing away from a traffic stop where he was ticketed.

Oregon State Police and the Grant County Sheriff's Office were on the lookout for vehicles taking part in the Bullrun Rally on Tuesday. The Idaho State Police and Nevada Highway Patrol alerted Oregon authorities after receiving citizen coplaints about drivers taking part in the rally.

The week-long rally challenges participants to drive from checkpoint to checkpoint in the West. Police said 20 vehicles affiliated with the rally passed through Grant County, Ore., on Tuesday morning.

State troopers stopped four of the cars on Highway 26 between John Day and Prairie City on Tuesday morning, citing the drivers for going 117, 112, 102 and 92 mph.

The driver of a 2012 Nissan race car with New York plates stopped by OSP for doing 112 mph was stopped again by a sheriff's deputy after the car sped off from the initial stop and hit 88 mph. The maximum speed on state highways in Oregon is 55 mph.

The drivers cited for exceeding 100 mph face fines of $1,150 and mandatory suspension of driving privileges in Oregon for up to 90 days, police said.

Nice Mitch! How hard is it? I have my old OEM head light in the garage that's in better condition than the current ones I have on now and been contemplating whether I should do it or not

Welcome! Where did you end up moving to? Portland? Beaverton?

    I was here all day

    IMAG0290_43916920fcd052363ba9b8443249b65fc9fbb95c.jpg

Lifetime alignment..lifetime balance..had them install my spare rim on the spare tire..apparently my alignment tabs are tweaked to shit :/

Question..now that I got the truck back it makes a weird noise as I'm driving. Sounds like a rock is stuck in one of my tires but my tires has nothing stuck on them(I looked). It is not the "Taco tick" because I already have that. They said they torqued down my All Pro wheel spacers to 150lbs..IMO that is WAY to much and they said they torqued my wheels down to 100lbs. I usually torque my wheel spacers/wheels to 80lbs, could that be the cause? Over-torqued? It's driving me NUTS!!

    Way too damn tight.
Factory spec on wheel lugs is 85. Going over can snap off the wheel studs.
The noise is more grinding or tapping? Grinding would be rotors. Tapping I have no clue.

Now you make me paranoid and I'm going to have to check torque every time I get the truck back from balance/alignment.

the part is stock code 8954304020, index 895543. Driver side rear, wheel speed sensor. My current price is $161 from one of our forum vendors.

    Its a SPARE.
