still don't get it.... Flat Rate taxes are not a fair tax code. If one were to be implemented, say good bye to the middle class.
Say there is a 10% flat rate tax across the board.

A family that makes $30k is gonna have to pay $3K in income taxes alone (that is a large portion of their purchasing power)

    Compared to

A family that makes $300K is gonna have to pay $30k in income taxes, which isn't going to impact their purchasing power as much.

Because a flat tax rate hurts the Lower and Middle Class

Good for you for your accomplishments, since you are retired take some classes in Economics and you will learn that Flat Tax rates don't work (Microeconomics)

Keep in mind that I'm a Liberation, and I believe you should keep what you earn, a Flat tax rate will ultimately hurt the economy not stimulate it

...Well its 10% of each of their purchasing power.

ANY economy thats based on trade (which is all economies) is regressive.

Lets say there was no tax. You make 10k a year, you pocket 10k. Same with 100k.

A loaf of bread is $2 no matter what, Gas is $3.50/gal. Thats just as regressive, as the poor people will spend more of their income on things they need.

The wealthy have more purchasing power regardless.

NO more tax revenue from me... sorry OP but I pay way too much as it is... And I'm not happy doing it. See I work very hard for my money and I invest wisely at the same time am also extremely frugal. My government can learn from the small business community that they all claim to support so strongly (they lie like rugs!!)

I am not going to get into politics here, but you take the top most populist cities in the US... examine who runs them, what kind of fiscal policies they maintain, and then maybe you will have some idea about what our problem is. It is simple. When the nation bears a burden of supporting 25% of it's citizens outright (cradle to grave), there is a problem.

Some in this country have absolutely no desire to work--never have, never will. They want to milk the system and subscribe to generational poverty. They are comfortable in their poverty; what's worse, they encourage their children to subscribe to it. (Recently read an article about some guy in Memphis that has 20+ kids, owes 15 women child support on a minimum wage job--and we're paying for his "lifestyle") Make someone uncomfortable in their poverty, and they will--if only by force--be motivated to leave it behind and become productive members of society. This means making someone embarrassed to take public assistance long term. Drug test them, make them work public works projects or community service, etc., and cut off every tangible luxury they maintain--TVs, phones, etc. Our nation's "poor" have very little understanding of what poor is. Just this week, I was behind some 250+lb behemoth with three kids yapping away on her cell phone and paying for her mostly fat/sugar-enriched groceries with her "LoneStar" card... EBT card... welfare card. Argghhh!

We currently have ~50 million working-age adults, who are on some sort of public assistance (40+ million on food stamps alone). It's disgusting. Wouldn't that be nice, not having to work and have my neighbor pay for my lazy ass for life. Surprising, but many Americans have absolutely no problem with this mentality. Fine if you need it very short term, but long term welfare is out-of-control.

Our already stressed taxes go to pay for this nonsense. No amount of taxation can stop the takers from taking from the producers unless real entitlement reform takes place.

But there is more of a burden placed on the lower income family with a flat tax rate.

No income taxes would be great, but that won't happen
