thats part of the argument..some say even tho they can be DOT approved ,cali law still says no..but i have never seen the actual vehicle stating anything about beadlocks..too lazy to look it up

Hmm both my true bead locks I've own have had closer to 25 bolts holding the ring on. Maybe the one pictured is the non bead locking version?

Maybe that's why they offer the actual locking ring separately

These are the only street legal, DOT approved deadlock wheels in the market:

    Hutchinson beadlock wheels

They are also being used by the armed forces in Afghanistan on Toyota trucks:

ford filed a patent or two for the beadlocks, maybe they are different form the norm and they got DOT approval..i think Ford is smarter then that..but nobody knows for sure..just speculation so far.

I was told my the local shop that the reason the DOT doesn't approve is if you have a blow out instead of the tire rotating freely around the rim it will spin and possibly cause damage to your fenders and lose control of your vehicle

Its still a Ford......yuck, for 50K you can build the illest taco race truck, I have Fox Shox on all four corners and a full leaf pack still under 35K, and I'll get 200,000 miles out of this engine before it needs a rebuild. More then I can say for a upgraded f150.

There you go with your fanboy crap again. Get a new line.

    1. It's really not a fanboy attitude, it's a "if you're paying over 15K (or even 1K for all I care) for a vehicle, why wouldn't someone choose a maker that actually has been reliable" kind of attitude. If that classifies me as a "fanboy" in your book, I really don't give a shit, call me all it day long. I'll tell anyone and everyone to buy Honda/Toyota.

    2. Work on the crap day in, day out. Realize how stupidly and cheaply engineered all their shit is. This part I really don't think you get, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think you do.

    3. I've never said Toyota is perfect, ever. Only more reliable than a goddamn Ford.
