Warranty work being done due to OEM Hood Deflector

Had the OEM hood reflector installed right after I bought the truck. I could tell by looking from above that the tape under the metal brackets was getting rubbed-through. So I took it down to the dealership, I said "Hey, this crap's under warranty for 12 mo./12,000 mi. and it's scratching my hood." They said "Hey, this crap isn't showing as being installed by anyone at all, EVER". I said "Oh, CRAP....".

Long story short, someone was lazy after the install, didn't document the maintenance correctly, or at all rather. So they took it off, sure enough, big chip under one of the brackets down to the bare metal.

Dropping it off in the morning at the paint shop to have it re-painted on their dime. I tried to con a scooped-hood from them, but that didn't happen.

That's a common problem with those Toyota deflectors. Glad they're taking care of it for you.
