    afternoon all: ^^^^ also!
:bananadance: that's how I feel right now!
went on a sneaker hunt this morning. Usually come home empty handed.
Well, I found 3 pairs of New Balance size 12-4E at one store. bought all 3 pairs, and they were all different.

Believe it or not, that's like hitting the lottery, and I hate to buy online without seeing the actual product.
had a plan though. was going to write style #'s down that I liked, and then come home and order them, but I got lucky!

Don't know if anyone else on here takes a wider than EE shoe, but finding sneakers, boots, and shoes that fit has been a hassle for years.
also have a high arch, which means "CHEAP" is not an option.
Just another thing to drive me crazy!

I'm in the same boat, Carl. Years of wearing combat boots - and many of those running miles every day in them.

x3 Not the running in combat boots, but wore them for 24 years. And the ones when I first joined really sucked

Hey jim: saw you were participating in another thread, that they now closed.
I like reading other peoples thoughts on subjects like that one.
Seems like alot of "contributing" people are getting disgusted.
I know I am getting hammered every time I turn around.
Just found out that I have to pay 30% more premium on medicare (almost was 60% more), due to the IRA rollover. They do include that as income.
I can get it adjusted back down in 2 yrs. Does that mean I get better coverage?
that's right off of a GOVT. website on how to figure what you'll owe.
If I would have done the full amt. for 1 yr., I'd be paying the 60% more.
lets see, Est. Tax, medicare premium, and Ins.Supplement; might have half of my SS check left.
 THEYRE TAKING IT ALL BACK!

you mean you wore them for 20 years after you got out. Is that normal in SC. I mean, walking around town wearing a dress and having combat boots on?

I watched my folks live on $900 a month. I helped when I could, wish it could have been more. Hopefully I'll collect some of the SS $ my sister paid and never got to collect.

 Good, you wear the heels and I'll stick to boots

    Jim,

As ground pounders, we did PT 5 times a week and ran 2 to 8 miles every time. When I was in the Pentagon for my last few years we didn't have organized PT as we did in the units but I had to take a PT test each year and pass the 2 mile run.

The Army is, in some ways, just a tad bit different than our sister Service, the Navy.

afternoon all: sorry to hear about the mother in law. She can count her blessings that she has been around longer than a lot of other people.

darn, and I thought the walk to the chow line was PT. Had to do it 3 times a day, every day. :D

    :( sorry

you really can't go on those "estimates" since MANY folks live a LOT longer than that...

Growing up in Fayette county PA during the 1950's, shoes were an option form May till Sept. My dad used to tell me that when he was in basic training durng WWII, he made extra money teaching some of the new recruits how to tie their shoes and boots. No comment on which States he mentioned they mostly came from.
