Hey all, title says it all! Just bought an 09 Tacoma DCLB TRD Sport 3 weeks ago. Had it long enough to drive from Philadelphia, PA up to Syracuse, NY to visit my parents and then find out my company was sending me to Dallas, TX for 3 weeks. Now I found out 3 days ago (still in texas.) that I'm transferring to Phoenix, AZ! I'll be home for a week before I have to drive across the country.

Needless to say I'm scrambling, but in the middle of all of this I realized that once I'm out in AZ I want to break into the offroading world (this is my first truck and I have zero experience with offroading). So my searches of the internets brought me here. This place is amazing! All my downtime over the past 2 weeks has been spent lurking around and finally found time to register and just wanted to say hi.

I'll be moving in 3 weeks and I'll be posting pics here to document the whole trip. Looking forward to meeting up with the Tacoma crowd out in AZ and eventually starting my own build thread (money is a bit tight with the move, but it's gonna happen, this itch isn't going away).

Welcome to TW! AZ has plenty of spots to wheel and a good crowd of like minded people.

I feel like TW should get kick backs for every purchase of a tacoma and/or tacoma accessory. This site does nothing but help you spend money....which I didn't have a problem doing from the beginning. Welcome to TW! In Arizona you should have access to a lot of fun shops in the area (at least driving distance). Makes me jealous. AK is not so close to SoCal.....but if it was....I probably wouldn't like it as much...

HAHA, yeah. It's a bad habit to have a list of what you want to do with your money over the next 5 years. I hope to slowly get into doing alot of the work myself but am a little tentative having never even done any real work on a car or truck. I'm a property damage estimator so I have alot of experience being in and around cars but never done the work myself. Any suggestions on good shops in the Phoenix area?

I'm not sure about the Phoenix area but it seems like California has every custom shop available for tacomas.

I don't know yet. I'll be working out of north phoenix. My job takes me on the road all day so I just have a home office in that area. My friend suggested Shade at Desert Ridge? I guess it is a Mark Taylor Apartment complex? Friend says it is at Tatum and 101 and it would be about 10 miles from my office.

Welcome to PHX! I live up in the north end of town (2 miles from desert ridge) and work about 10 miles away near deer valley airport. Depending on which direction you are traveling to work from desert ridge (east to scottsdale, or west to phoenix) take traffic into consideration while not a big deal for just a 10 mile trip, the 101 looks pretty bad going east in the morning, and west in the afternoon.

If you want any more information about the area, feel free to shoot me a PM

definitely headed west from there, office is right near the first major highway west down 101 (17 i think?). Sounds like Desert Ridge might be the place. It's likely just for 6 months while I look for a house. Thanks for all the greets!

There are some decent apartments around happy vally and I17. Don't know the names of them off the top of my head but they are fairly newish.
