I was told over the phone by an Entune specialist (if there is such a thing) that the over the air update was going to actually be a USB update and they were going to start sending them out to customers next week. Let us know if anybody gets one.

I just received the email as well. Hopefully this flash drive will be the first step in allowing someone to figure out how to hack the entune system.

Taking truck in for service on July 2nd. They tell me they have all the new updates and the truck must be hooked up to their computer to deliver them and make changes. Ive heard that the new android 4.0 platform on a HTC evo will produce messages on the system. I have a buddy that has a new Toyota also. You have to first root the phone to load 4.0 (ICS). Ill report back after service appt.

The email says they will email the thumb drive and you do it from the instructions provided. I did have to take the truck in for the dealer to update the software version to 1.8.4. I think they are 2 different things, but let us know what happens. 1.8.4 didn't change any apps.

For everyone with iPhones, I am a developer so I am running the new iOS6 beta 2 on my iPhone and iPad. I can confirm that it supports the bluetooth MAP layer and I can current get notifications on my entune head unit. This will need to be polished before the GM hits both by Apple & Toyota. Right now a generic message displays that say you have a new notification.

Also got the email everyone is talking about yesterday! Its being mailed and its on USB and its free! So glad that I do not have to deal with the dealership about this.

    This was posted on priuschat.com

I assume if the vehicles that can download over the air were expected to be available on the 28th then our USB's are probably in the mail or will probably be here next week.

    ****An unrelated new issue****
I just bought a 16 Gb thumbdrive to play music from and always leave in the truck. It is easier to search ( you can do it with voice) with the thumb drive and there are a few more benefits. My problem is that on some songs the system freezes and I can no longer play from the USB, skip the frozen song, sometimes I can search and pick a new song but it will continue to say "Loading" with no success. I noticed that once this happens my ability to access pandora also fails, but the rest of the internet apps work fine. The only way I can fix it is to shut the truck off and turn it on again. Sometimes requiring my to pull the thumbdrive out and in and even swithching songs in the frozen state. If the music picks up where it left off before the freeze it will freeze again. Does anybody else have a similar issue. "Only happens on some songs and seems to be the same songs over and over"

That would be nice if they could upgrade it over the air.

Hmmm... Im going to try that. I like the idea of using the stick for music and keeping it in my truck. Ill try it and see what happens.

I think I figured out the music freezing issue. The songs that I know froze were straight from itunes and were .m4a files. I converted them to MP3 and it seems to work so far. The entune manual saya they can take MP3 and MP4.

I don't have any issues with music files from iTunes at all, purchased or ripped.

Install went fine. No hook ups! It has a new option to enter your entune user name and password where you set up the internet connection.
