    ;)

The ACC played Alabama 5x, Auburn 6x, Florida 10x, Georgia 9x, LSU 4x and SC 12x - those 6 teams (half of the SEC) account for 46 of the 65 games (71%) that have been played between ACC/SEC. What do those teams have in common? Except for Tennessee in 2004 and 2007, those 6 teams account for all of the SEC division champions. By contrast, ACC teams only got to play Mississippi, MSU and Kentucky a total of 8 times.

That means is that the ACC has had the misfortune of playing the best teams in the SEC, while not being privileged to play the weakest (except for the aforementioned Wake/Vandy series, which honestly is a fair fight). So when you say SEC is better, it is plainly not so. Line up Kentucky, MSU, MS, Vandy, TN etc...etc.. and lets see what happens.

that was 7 years ago, the kids on the teams now were between the ages of 10-15 then, so i doubt that holds much relevance now. Also if the ACC is so great and VT is so underrated then how come you can't win your bowl games? Idc if its against an SEC team or a WAC team, you guys win the ACC almost every year it seems but you always fall flat on your face, with the lone exception being the orange bowl against Cincy.

I'm just not seeing how you are victomized by everyone when every year you're ranked so high and get into ANOTHER BCS game this past year and once again fail. Think what would've happened if you played us, seeing Clemson beat you twice and we evicerated them...

ACC 2-13 in major bowls, WVU 3-0

That cancer needs to be gone...I have said that since his suspensions last year. What a dolt...so much talent such a little brain. Hope he enjoys life in prison! But this may be a blessing in disguise - this may just pave the way for Henry...

    ACC coaches' hot seat rankings

    June, 28, 2012 Jun 28

    PM ET

Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com recently released his College Football Coach Hot Seat Ratings for the 2012-13 season, and it should come as no surprise that Boston College coach Frank Spaziani and Maryland coach Randy Edsall will be feeling some heat this fall.

Edsall finished 2-10 in his first season at College Park -- after he inherited a nine-win bowl team -- and BC has seen a steady decline under Spaziani's watch. Last year was one of the most disappointing seasons in Chestnut Hill in recent years, as the Eagles missed a bowl game for the first time in 12 seasons. BC finished 8-5, 7-6 and 4-8 in three seasons under Spaziani.

Dodd used a grading scale of 0-5 to determine how hot the coaches' seats are, with 0 meaning "can't be touched," and 5 meaning "win or be fired." Edsall and Spaziani received the league's highest grades at 4.0.

Here's how the ACC coaches fared:
    .

    Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech: 0.5
My take: There's no question Beamer is the safest coach in the ACC. Four ACC titles and the winningest active coach in the FBS? The only reason he probably even earned a .5 is because of the poor showings in BCS games.

    Jimbo Fisher, Florida State: 1.0
My take: There's always pressure to win in Tallahassee, but with the top-10 recruiting classes Fisher continues to lure in, I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon.

    Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech: 1.0
My take: He was named the ACC's Coach of the Year in each of his first two seasons in the league, but the success seems to have tapered off a bit. His lucrative contract would make it very difficult to make a change, but there's no need for one anyway. Johnson is smart and will continue to win.

    Mike London, Virginia: 1.0
My take: He was ahead of schedule in Year 2 and appears to have the program heading in the right direction. UVa is on the rise.

    Jim Grobe, Wake Forest: 1.5
My take: If being a nice guy counted as much as wins, Grobe would never be fired. Last year's team showed measurable improvement and this year's roster should be even better. Grobe ushered the Deacs through their most successful period in school history. He's earned some tenure.

    Larry Fedora, North Carolina: 1.5
My take: Give the man some room to breathe. He inherited a mess, both on the field and off. Let him recruit and change the culture before warming up his seat.

    Tom O'Brien, NC State: 2.0
My take: O'Brien has shown how good the program can be when it is at full strength. The Pack beat No. 7-ranked Clemson last year and finished on a strong note. The program is poised to build upon that success this fall.

    Al Golden, Miami: 2.5
My take: This is too high for Golden. Miami should be thanking Golden for not walking out on the Canes last August, when the NCAA investigation was dropped in his lap. The administration has made the right moves to keep him there.

    Dabo Swinney, Clemson: 3.0
My take: This is also too high for Swinney, who has already taken the Tigers to two ACC title games and won one. I would guess the only reason he got a three is because he's struck out against South Carolina and flopped in the Orange Bowl, but the recruiting has been encouraging and his contract was recently sweetened.

Surprised to see Dabo so high. I would have thought that his job security was very secure. He has turned the Clemson program around and now like VT, needs to get over the "hump".

I'm fine with Crowell being done. He was a complete disappointment last year and constantly "Hurt". Keith Marshall for heisman!

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I would put him on the same level as Cliff Harris. But, Harris didn't have a gun on him just lots of speeding, drugs and drinking. Amazing talent, but no brain to go with it.

Unfortunately it happens all too often NCAA wide....the value of a full scholarship and to play football is a privilege. Guess they are too young to realize it.... VT has had its share as well.

James Wilder Jr. accepts plea deal
Florida State running back James Wilder Jr. admitted to violating the terms of his probation during a plea hearing Thursday and agreed to serve three additional days in jail to complete his sentence.
In order to avoid further jail time while awaiting a hearing, Wilder accepted a plea deal that included 11 days in jail -- eight of which he already has served.
"While we'd liked to have disputed it, he doesn't have the luxury to sit in the Leon County Jail," Tim Jansen, Wilder's attorney, said.
Wilder originally was charged with felony assault in February, but he pleaded no contest to a lesser charge in April and was sentenced to six months' probation, time in work camp, and was ordered to complete five days of anger-management classes.

    Three Razorbacks plead not guilty
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Three Arkansas players have pleaded not guilty to felony charges tied to the burglary of their fellow students' room.
Wide receivers Marquel Wade and Maudrecus Humphrey and tight end Andrew Peterson entered the pleas on Wednesday in Washington County Circuit Court.. Judge Ray Reynolds' office confirmed the pleas.
Coach John L. Smith says the three are not presently members of the team but he will reconsider their status once the legal process is complete. Smith said earlier that the three had not enrolled in summer school.
Three other Razorbacks have faced charges this spring, including lineman Jason Peacock, who was sentenced last week to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor for stealing a student's debit card.
