Relay Wires:
1. A ground wire.
2. The power to battery should have a fuse.
3. The wires that go to the + wires of lights.
4. Wire to switch

Good Morning and TGIF Lady in Blue! Thanks! I REALLY like it... and the price was great. Even better... the Kayak and Canoe racks I got will hook to it if I'm going locally... so I don't have to remove it as often.. even though its stupid easy! It will also bolt directly to the OEM rack... and I may go that route (less wieght capacity) eventually.

 

ugh...may need some on site help or just wire straight switched. Where and what kind of relay do I gets?

 

Yea should be able to straight switch those... hids dont pull alot of power

Trying to decide which lights I wana use, then ima get some back up lights. And honestly think ima just wire em to a switch. Thought about trying the reverse lights and switch like you, but really just extra work. Stick to switch call it a day

 

Can't straight switch if you want them to operate on thier own AND with reverse.... standard relay from Autozone... $6 maybe?

If straight switch... SUPER EASY... just tap the reverse hot wire on the rear harness.

Either way... there's lots of diagrams on line... hell, just pull a pdf from Hella's website... and intead of hella lights... they are YOUR aux lights... instead of tappig into high beam power... tap into oem reverse lead.

Next mod day, I'd be more than happy to help and can bring my rolling electrical tool box... AKA "set shit on fire" box!

I may have to put a couple reverse lights on my basket!

May just tap reverse wire...idk. Are there different relays? Don't know anything about em

 

Check out those 6in LED light bars that dude on here sells. That's prob what ima use on my bed rack. They're small enough to not be in the way too much and bright as hell

Sure ya can. Switch off, no power back feeding. Switch on, no power back feeds into the truck. I have two switches on my led's, same concept. If both are turned on... still dosnt matter because its all the same 12v. Only thing I can see happening is the reverse lights and the hids turning on with the switch

Hmmmmm... That makes sense... I wouldn't do it. Something goes wrong... just mre stuff affected... Damn... I may have to do a little research!

 

I think mr ato had his set up for reverse or anytime, I'll ask em. Or may just use as reverse, but I think he said pull power direct from the battery

 

mine are only reverse and I just tapped into the rear lights. Been that was for over a year now

 

What mounts are you using for your yak...I got the factory rails installed but trying to order the right yak mounts now...I'm using a 10ft angler yak

 

I might just do that cause may cans handle alone
