This is a rare chance for "The Silent Majority" to be heard. Do it.

I hope some of you realize that taxes are what supports the military. Just something to think about. And I could really give a rat's ass what the so-called "Silent Majority" thinks. I just paid my taxes and since I am "too successful", had to pay out the ass this time.

I don't mind paying taxes to support our AWESOME military. In fact one of the few charities I donate to is the Disabled American Veterans. I just don't like the tax and spend policies now previlent on Capitol Hill.

I think the main thing with the tea parties isn't "paying taxes" as much as it's what your tax money is going to. Obviously people like seeing tax money going to defense, schools, advances in medcal industries. But people are upset about the exces. AIG, GM, BOA, Chrystler, the list goes on and on and on. This spending is getting a little out of hand, and when that happens, taxes have to go up to compensate.

look- I'm not totally against this idea. If there should be someone bitching and complaining, its me because as I mentioned, I get taxed out the wazoo. I pay more than 30% of my income in taxes, and I pay almost as much on the total percentage of my investments. So yes- I am getting screwed.

I am interested in an idea to address tax reform. But the problem I have with this idea is that it has been branded as a rally for Republicans and conservatives. Had the idea been more centered and made to be seen as one that both parties could relate to, then maybe it would have some legs. As such now, I'm imaging it'll be more fodder for the Rush Limbaugh show.

If you want to get something like this going, you have to get people from both sides to get involved, not just one- or the " Silent Majority, God's people, Real Americans or whatever Conservatives like to call themselves.

So you can see, I'm not against the idea. Its a good thing for Americans to get involved with the political process. I'm not a fan of its execution and presentation.

Remember: This is not about whether you are Democrat, Republican, or Commie Pinko nut-job. This is about remembering the principles and values this country was founded on.
