We can have a resume party, My boss told me to get mine ready too. (kinda weird for your boss to tell you that and not be firing you)

No I didn't walk...very tempted to though. But I'm fed up with the BS there so I'm diving head on into a search for a new job.

 So you still have to go through the resume, interview shenanigans even though you're a subcontractor of sorts?

Yep, i've done at least 15 interviews in the last 8 years. For the longer contracts (3months plus) they want to know what they are getting just like hiring an employee. The good thing is my resume is never too far out of date.

I'm getting really pissed off at the carpet installers... they are nearly 3 hours late from original time. They called at 9 and said they would be late.... but now they are an hour past that time. I'm going to be taking money off their install costs.

Flooring installers can be a pain sometimes...used to work at a flooring store.
How large of an area do they have to do?

800sq ft plus a set of stairs. They just called me finally. Said their van had some problems. Its berber they are putting down too. Only reason I am pissed though is that I have other things I needed to get done today, not wait around for them :(

 there are those types. we had some good guys and some sketchy guys at the place i worked. there were a couple that i wouldn't work with because they were such prima donnas. my parents still do business at that store and mom always calls and asks me which installers she should request
stairs could take a while, i'd make them start there.

I already did all the destruction and cleaning for them. Found 10lbs of dust under the old stuff, plus they mixed and matched the padding under the old carpet. I found 5 different types of carpet pads! Fixed a small bit of water damaged sheet rock and did all the painting except the 2 basement bed rooms. Bust 2 days for sure.

If i could make good money doing woodworking i would definitely do it. The problem is it just isn't nearly as profitable as computers. If I charged my hourly rate i get from computers doing woodworking, that rolling pin i showed you would be $500. There just isn't a market for $500 rolling pins.

As far as my job goes, i'm good. Full time employee of my contracting firm. They will find things to keep me busy. In the mean time i'll get my certs up to date.
