I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks for my dealer to find a gray or pyrite TRD Sport. I spoke to the sales guy on Wednesday and they had found one. It's coming via a shipping service from somewhere in Texas (at most a 12 hour drive). It was supposed to a max of 4-5 days, but he fully expected it sooner.

Here we are on the 5th day and I haven't heard a word. I called on Saturday and had to leave a voicemail, then had to leave another this morning.

Does it seem a little extreme to anyone else that it takes 5 or more days for a shipping service to make a 12 hour drive???

Depends on what kind of service it is...They may not work over weekends...It was the holiday on Sunday...If it got shipped out THAT day it was 4-5 days...Who knows if that happened.

I wouldn't freak out about not having the truck here yet- I would be pissed that the dealership isn't answering your calls...Try the sales manager or the next guy up the chain....or go to the dealership.

Times ten! In this economy a car salesperson not returning a phone call? really? REALLY? Wow, must be doing mighty darn good for himself. Crazy, just crazy!

I agree about the lack of communication. What sucks is that I know the salesman I'm dealing with (he's actually the sales manager and I'm friends with his brother) so I'm hesitant to complain to anyone else about not getting a call back. Guess at this point he's just taking me for granted since he knows me.

you are a customer right now...not a brothers friend. Call them and ask. You are putting out big coin and they are profiting from it...it's your right to be able to ask about it's whereabouts.

I finally got an update. The truck is still in Texas. It was picked up this morning from the other dealership and has to go through Houston before it finally heads to La. The estimate is Wednesday now. I got the whole dealership was closed for the holidays excuse, but since the holiday was on Sunday and dealerships are always closed on Sundays, I'm not sure why that had any affect. Not exactly sure what was wrong with picking it up some time between Thursday and Saturday. No way they were closed Good Friday and the next day.

I kind figured it was still going to be there. I'm not sure how they are moving it- but companies that move bulk freight/larger items tend to try to consolodate trips (like moving companies) so you gotta catch a load like that.

Plus there is set up time- If they found it Weds and jerked around at all- that means it was Weds afternoon/Thurs morning before the moving company called...and late thurs/eraly friday at the earliest that it coulda been picked up. and that is all if everything went perfect.

If it's on it's way...hang tight...It's worth the wait to get the truck you want!!!
