Whats up fellas. I'm a newby to the forum and I'm looking for some advice on parts. I am graduating college soon and since I've been driving the same truck since I was 16(1995 Nissan P/U) my first purchase is going to be a new vehicle. First question...

I've found a few 2007 double cab TRD sports with leather and around 20k miles for 24k...That a good price?

Also I'm definatly going to mod this truck. First plans are:
3" Toytec OME coil lift package, 285x75r 17 BFG KM2's on pro comp 6007 wheels. I've read alot about the lifts and that seems to be a good choice, let me know if I'm wrong.

I also plan on putting a K&N Air charger kit, along with JBA Headers and JBA Exhaust. I haven't seen anyone talking about JBA on this site and I'm not familiar with them. There is a sound clip on there site and I like the sound of the taco with that combo. If there are any other performance mods or mods that are better please let me know.

How does that sound for a start???

Sounds like you're well on your way, Doug Thorley seems to be the header of choice, and flowmaster is the exhaust of choice, but maybe these ones you speak of are as nice. Welcome to TW, send some pix when you get it.

yeah, check the blue book for the price. just a thought, if you are lookin at an 06 or 07 with low miles, also look at new ones..... tacomas have a GREAT resale value. that's good if you are trading in or selling, bad if your buying. also, i don't know if this is true or not, sales people are lying bast**ds, but a couple told me before you can usually get better intrest rates buying new than used, so if it's only a couple thousand diff, that intrest rate might make up the diff.

as for your mods, check out flow master 40 series, that is what i want, haven't heard of JBA...

whatever you get.... CONGRATS on the truck and your degree!!

I found a thread in this forum about new tacomas and a guy had found a new one for around 26k. I looked at the website, and even though its about a 8hr drive from here. I can get a brand new TRD for 26k. It doesn't have leather though. I dont guess thats a big deal.

You can always have aftermarket leather installed.

From what I understand, trucks sold through the southeast toyota region where you are often have leather installed after they come from the factory anyway.

Dealer wasn't lying. Interest rates on new cars ARE lower than used.

    To the OP:
I got my 06 Double Cab short bed 4x4 brand new with 0 miles, tow package, rear locker, 6CD, sport seats, keyless entry,.... for $27k. So keep that in mind. Between lower interest rate if you finance, and used being almost the same as new you might be better off with new.

Not to mention you don't have to worry about buying someone else's problems or a truck abused by the previous owner. I've had 2 used cars (one a "Certified Pre-Owned" Corolla), and I'll never buy used again. Too many small things to deal with.
