Went wheeling and camping up the Middle St Vrain. Just an FYI that first obstacle behind Camp Dick has changed considerably. Pretty tough line now.

Same goes for the obstacle about a 1/2 mile up.

Don't know if it was last year's run off or what...

Wife and I went for a drive / hike up to Mohawk lakes up around breck. It was great to get out of the heat, continental falls are sweet. Now I'd like to try and drive up to crystal lake towards peak 10 at breck.

That obstacle has been there for the last 20 years I've been going. But it was so torn up behind the first two big rocks... and I think a few more boulders were added. Seemed a lot different even from the last time I went which was Aug'11

It was great. Beautiful weather, creek is flowing, tons of carnage of other vehicles and met another Tacoma enthusiast (he has an 01-04 - sweet sleeper rig)

It's was a blast!!! Fun bumpy fire road up and then a good hike up to the lakes. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

At majikman, I think I was talking about the wood fencing to make people go up over that first obstacle. I hope it's still there. That trail scares me in my truck, I ran it with some jeeps and a DCSB Tacoma with full armor last year and he used every bit of armor for sure

At Sean, yeah most of the people up there today were families. 2 lakes, 2 different views of the same waterfall, which is a big one. Drive that tundra up through the gate, multiple places to park so you don't have to walk so far. Our total round trip today was 3 miles, it has quite a bit of elevation gain but the views are amazing.

Here is the lower falls. The upper Continental Falls are much larger. Ill post pictures of Lower Mohawk lake later tonight or tomorrow.

Here are some images taken by me while on the hike. Bunch of cool lakes up in that area, crystal lake is up the same trail head but shoots right just after the main gate at spruce creek trailhead parking lot. Upper and lower mohawk lakes are at the end of the bumpy fire road. At some point ill try and make it up above mohawk lakes to Pacific Tarn Lake. All these can be accesed by the crystal lakes trail head. When you drive through the first gate at what is the main parking lot just stay towards the left and head up past wheeler hiking trail head, park anywhere after that, or drive all the way up to the hiking entrance to mohawk lakes. I made it up no problem. Crystal lakes trail could be a bit more difficult.
