Well if i park with the sliders on a rock then you are correct. Haha all th more reason to get a 1" BL.

By the way... sliders are done!!! i destroyed a bit on the last hole. Just as ot poked through the frame a little and the bit siezed and broke and the drill went flying out of my hands luckily not into my face or anybody else i had the use the other bit to.finish drilling it out.

A 1" body lift would probably get my back doors to clear the kickouts when the sliders are flexed. It shouldnt be much of an issue though since I can't imagine i will hit my sliders all that often. I do want to do a one inch body lift eventually to give me a little more clearance for 35's or 36's.

 

Got any pics of this event? I want to seen what the slider reflection looks like.

 

I can take some and upload them tomorrow when i get home. The in-laws dont have fast internet.

ehh..ya but then none of your bumpers would line up with a body lift. Thats whats keeping me from considering a 1'' BL for 35s.

BTW all..im going to be chopping my cab(s)..should be interesting..

 

Cutting the top off and the rear of the rolled cab. Doing the same to the new cab, then welding it back together

 

Cause by swapping a full new cab. I have to get a new VIN and reregister it as a salvaged truck. This way I keep my vin and I don't have to weld up my wheel week and repaint the floor and re cut the tranny tunnel

 

the structural integrity of your truck will be severely compromised that this is going to be a death trap

 

Old Ass Drill

Had to grind down 4 of these backing plates so that they would fit, so much for painting them

Back doors barely clear the kickouts

Back doors don't clear the kickouts when there is weight on the sliders

How's this for reflection?



From even a short distance away you almost can't tell I have sliders on

No it wont. Ppl do it all the time. The only part that will be potentially weaker is the a pillars and that's only if its done bad. Really it could be made stronger. The in cab part will be stronger since I can dully weld it and not spot weld like factory.

Fuck the tops of my feet hurt!! I washed my pickup barefoot, shirtless, and in shorts. Took longer than I was expecting and I fried my back and the tops of my feet!

I agree, but why did you opt for a rack when you could have put the tent on the shell and still have all your storage space in the bed with protection from the weather?

What do those tents weigh? I can't imagine it would affect it that much, although removing the shell does probably help a lot.

I could have and If I only do trails like white rim, a high COG wouldn't matter so much but I also want to do the more challenging, off camber type stuff. And around here there are many, many low branches to deal with.

We'll see where the RTT ends up, I think the rack ended up a couple of inches higher than I intended.
